I was going through the meta event to get to the Arah dungeon for my final quest, killing Zhaitan. I’ve heard all these stories that it’s bugged. Last night, it didn’t appear to be, the event was going through and everything was fine.

However, today, the event seems to be bugged at the point where the Pact are preparing to establish a forward base. Nothing has happened for at least an hour. I really want to finish my storyline. Thanks

For more than 30 hours(that I know of) Gates of Arah event is stuck on “The Pact are preparing to establish a forward base”, with Anchorage Waypoint contested, Arah Waypoint open and the door to Arah dungeon closed.
Filled two bug reports with Blocking the progress box checked. One yesterday and one today. Annoyed the hell out of people to send bug reports yesterday. Some, probably, did. And people were hopeful because the servers should’ve been restarted at night(like they did every night before)…. but they didn’t
kitten(haha! very funny)DO SOMETHING! Send GM to reset event chain, reboot the location or open the doors! I’m sorry, but my patience has ended.

Ok so on friday (yesterday) the Arah instane was accessible on Underworld server. Today it’s bugged again and even if it appears that the area is uncontested, the gates are closed!
I understand that there has been a try to fix this issue, but until then LET THE DOOR OPEN.
Behalf of all the end pve gamers, i want to inform you, that Arah is the real challenge.
Therefore some serious effort should be put in fixing this bug.

Looks like ANet have a serious problem with gates and doors…

Would really like to finish my story >< My server wont even start the Defend the Gates event to contest it.

Yea Arah gates are bugged on Sanctum of Ral and Gates of Madness server as well. I would really like to get in and finish this dungeon set!

Maybe leave the gate open until a fix for the meta event is up.

Yeah pretty hacked off over this. Finally got to the end of my story (still my first char) only to discover I can’t do the mission to finish it because of some fing gates :/

Its ridiculous that Arah is only available on some servers right after a new build…only to get bugged again the next day…it’s been like this in Sanctum of Rall for a while now.

Yep, the Events are bugged, and Arah isn’t accessible on Gandara too,
(and was not accessible in the last 4 days too)

And make sure that if you do get in, DO NOT do the Jotun path! its bug about 1/3 of the way when some crystal guardians become bugged!

The thing I don’t understand is that this bug was reported over 2 weeks ago and its still not fixed! I wasted 2 hours yesterday because of this!

I did p1 after the last build and it was working fine, maybe it’s on your server? whats bugged about it?

Arah isn’t accessible on Gandara again. We have a few guild members who missed our run when it was unbugged last week who have now been waiting 3 weeks to finish their personal story. It’s frozen at the point where Anchorage fell, and there’s still a few pact npcs by the contested wp.

IMHO Access to your personal story should never be down to the actions or otherwise of other players.

I’m on Gandara too, we currently have a couple of guild members who are sacrificing their main chars to hold station between the instance and the locked gate just so guildies can go get their personal story done.

Arena Net please ether delete the event, delete the door, or fix the bug.
I am a massive fan boy of the game, but even I am losing my patience now.

Arah gate events is buged again, same thing keeps repeating it self for month or more.
Maybe you should make this event shorter, let it start from stairs near Arah gate
if you cant handle this. We did this event today right after server reset and everythig
was just fine (everybody was happy etc), i fell a sleep full of hope that maybe, just
maybe this time will be different, but guess what…

Why is it, every time ive gone lately (and i play daily) is the Gates of Arah meta event chain, bugged. Its almost always bugged, its been bugged for a fair few days now, it gets fixed for maybe a day, then its broken again for days on end. It really needs to be fixed, and soon. Im not willing to do a character transfer either, JUST to so a dungeon. Get it sorted.

Gate is currently bugged on Far Shiverpeaks server.

I tried the CM dungeon (for lvl 40) in Queensdale in Story Mode yesterday. We killed all the enemies but at last point to reach the Queen the counter stopped at 2/3 killed. So we couldnt finish CM in story mode.

Members of my guild told me that this was going on in the exact same way days before. So Arena Net has to fix this bug – dont know it before and it wasnt that fun to finish the dungeon and didnt finish really.

Title says all, since the patch we can’t open Arah anymore.

In order to capture arah, one of the group quests you have to do is kill a champion risen giant and “cull the risen”. On the server borlis pass, this is bugged and we are not able to capture arah because, i guess some of the risen just dont spawn, because we have tried probably 10 times so far and every time we hit 99% for culling the risen but thats all we can get. we have traveled all around killing risen EVERYWHERE and cannot get that last risen. Can any GM’s help out here or something?

I’m sure this must be a repeated bug but for whatever reason there is no event for the anchorage waypoint to trigger the arah gates opening. For a few days now i have not seen any event down south on the server gunnar’s hold. It has the penitent, shelter, jofast and verdance waypoint’s events but then when it says waiting for reinforcements down south there is no event. When you go towards anchorage waypoint for the final event it just says waiting to establish a base….. etc.

Before anyone asks yes i have tried starting with the meta event from the start… it just repeats and does nothing when it says waiting for reinforcements in the south

I can confirm the same problem currently happening on Tarnished Coast as well.

cant access karma merchants at arah waypoint because the event there is bugged it wont finish it is stuck at the step the pact are preparing to establish a foward base has said this for 1 dayy now and hve gone to where it begins to start it and tht didnt work

This is a bug often posted about in the “Cannot enter dungeon” thread, but since it is of different nature (not an issue with the dungeon portal, but with the related events) i thought it might be helpful to make a separate post.

The meta event is stuck at this state: The Arah waypoint is uncontested, however the entire area around it is in the contested version ( Risen eyes and hands, catapults and typical Risen further down the stairs etc.), including the locked gate. The Anchorage waypoint is contested and the Meta Event says “The Pact are preparing to establish a forward base”, however nothing (as far as i can tell) really happens. This has been the situation for 3 days straight as far as i can tell.

Am i just missing that the event is progressing somewhere? (If that’s the case, could someone say where to look/what to do?). Could something be done about it until a solution is found (manually resetting the event or Cursed Shore, or simply removing the gate until it works as intended?). The server i am talking about is Whiteside Ridge, however it looks like more or less every server has this issue (if someone knows a server that works all right, please post it’s name). Also, if anyone knows what usually happens before the event is stuck that way, please report it for troubleshooting purposes.

EDIT: I also tried to start the events from the beginning in case the 2 events were linked. The last step it is reaching is “The pact is waiting for reinforcements in the south” or something along those lines, then either stays there or moves backwards, but nothing happens to link the 2 events. Hope this helps.

To add to the current poster, the chain is bugged at the Graven Cay site, where it asks you to protect Engineer Footi as she sets up her cannon.

The only two npc’s on site are: Explorer Ambrose and Keeper Jonez Deadrun. The npc Engineer Footi is not properly spawned.

I’ve noticed this since Saturday November 3rd @ 10 eastern. The event has not yet to either “Fail” or reset itself.

This is on Darkhaven realm.

Also broken on Tarnished Coast. Anchorage is contested but the Gates of Arah are not (although the door is firmly closed and it clearly is not in the hands of the Pact). I can’t say for sure where it is stuck, but Warmaster Chan is nowhere to be seen and he’s the one who establishes Anchorage.

Hey there people! I don’t know if this issue has already been taken up to anyones attention but the events leading up to opening Arah is bugging alot, making it impossible to open or complete Arah. It has been this way for quite a while now, even though new patches gets released they only fixes the problem temporarily. And several times as i can recount theres been a patch that fixes the problem, and arah is able to be opened for maybe 1-2 days after the patch. After that it’s been bugged once again.

As i said it’s not the first time one of the events leading up to opening Arah is bugged, this time it seems to be the Anchorage waypoint not activating even though all the waypoints are cleared. Making it once again impossible to open arah, meaning it’s incredibly frustrating not being able to play Arah until the next patch/server reset. I’m currently in Gandara and can confirm that it’s still bugged, however i know for a fact that it works right now in Far Shiverpeaks. But im guessing Gandara isn’t the only server affected by this.

So anyway i just wanted this to be brought to everyones attention if it already hasn’t. I really do not want to have to switch server or only being able to play for 1 day until it’s bugged again, so please if you’re not already working on it im sure we would all appreciate it being taken care of. Also really enjoying the game it’s awesome! And thanks in advance. =)

It is especially critical to fix this bug (Yak’s Bend Arah as been inacessible too for days) because this is not just another event, it is a chain of events that leads to Arah which is also a personal story step. As long as Arah is inacessible, people cannot complete this step and finish the game. “Blocking progress”.

It’s also stalled on Underworld server. The escort quest stalls.

Spent a few hours clearing the landing/camp area in Tarnished Coast last night. That is broke there too. It would not advance.

On our server the arah gate is closed because of a stuck event, is it possible this gets fixed within the next few days? because it has been stuck for 4/5 days allready.

Arah dungeon has been unavailable for more than 1 week in Gunnar’s Hold Server, almost 2 weeks from now.
The event “Gates of Arah – The pact are preparing to establish a forward base” don’t start.
I don’t know if players bugged them on purpous just to farm the early events like they do in Grenth’s event or if it’s another stuff.
Please fix this in your next patch!

Arah Gates chain event bugged on borlis pass server, stuck at “The pact are preparing to establish a forward base.” step.

Same on Tarnished Coast.

It’s been almost two weeks since anyone was able to open the gates of Arah. The final chain in the event is bugged so that it is impossible to kill enough Risen to complete the event.

The problem is either that they don’t spawn correctly, or the progress bar is stuck.

But it’s a joke now. Almost two weeks!

I’d like to add that demolishing the catapults is not adding to the bar, and since the bar looks full enough that the catapults would be enough to fill it, this might be the case.

Alternatively, perhaps undead are spawning bellow the ground?

Like OP said, it’s been way too long for a bug that breaks both every personal storyline and the dungeons one, plus barring the Arah gear sets. Could we at least get a forum post saying someone is working on it or any data on the progress you may be able to give? I’ll say it once more: If push comes to shove and this is gonna last, make the dungeon available independently from the event. Sure it would decrease the epic feel, but would it not be better than a dungeon (the most important dungeon) being effectively removed? Get us a workaround at least.

The event eventually worked, and now we happily control Arah. If it was something you did, thanks If not, hopefully it helps you find a permanent solution?

Yea, they managed to complete it but it was after I had logged off after the third attempt.

I don’t know what they did differently, I’ll try and find out.

Seriously. Your server can get Arah unlocked once. If you lose control of it before the next reset all the events bug out and you can’t get in the dungeon without inviting someone from another server to get you in.

How long is it gonna take to fix this?

The Arah Entrance has been closed all week on Sanctum of Ral due to a bug in the quest chain that prevents you from getting to the final event. :/
