Happened today in Southsun Cove, but it was not the first time, happened also in Melchor’s Leap once. I went through the zone, marked the nodes on a map for my guild.
Then some hours later, after they had problems finding them, i went back and the nodes were in completely different positions. There was no new build in the meantime, i did not get a notice about being in Overflow (also whats the chance we need one in Southsun) and there were also other people collecting the nodes so i havent imagined it.
Are we now getting node refreshs also outside of new builds or what is happening?

Also server is Whiteside Ridge.

The nodes always spawned differently since launch at certain times without the need of new builds. It’s normal.

I’ve seen this reported before, but I have never been able to replicate it. I follow orrmaps.com and I have never seen the nodes move around, unless I’m guesting, there’s overflow (unlikely for Southsun), or there’s been an update. A couple of times, I’ve missed out on some ori/ancient nodes, because I went back too soon.

At times, I’ve forgotten that I was guesting, that I mined those nodes earlier with that toon, or (for passion fruit), that I’ve hit the maximum.

@Snowcub: if you are convinced that this is going on, I recommend that you file a support ticket and include your before & after maps and the times that you compared them. Ideally, revisit with an alt, so you can rule out both guesting (by using F12) and having farmed the nodes within the reset period.

2 patches ago, they moved daily for a week on SBI. Then mysteriously started to remain where they were.
After the Tuesday patch this week, they moved as i was looking at the node. It should have reformed, but it dissappeared. Will have to wait till daily reset today to see if they move again, or if they fixed it with the Wednesday patch.

First off all, this is not a bug. The nodes are designed to spawn randomly over the map ,and change position once in a while. The simple fact that we nailed the system behind and can predict that at server reset the nodes are being replaced, doesnt mean that it should work like that always.

I think there is a logical reason behind it though that has nothing to do with at bug.

The nodes are placed on the map when the map is created. A map is created when it is empty and a player enters it. This happens garanteed when there is an update (cause all players are being kicked) but also e.g. in the middle of the night or when the software hosting the specifick map crashes (and kicks everyone present).

Not sure but it could explain whats happening. The thing is that you should look and find your gathering nodes (atleast thats how the game is ment to be played, even when nobody does it that way).

I guess that explains why Shatterer events in Blazeridge Steppes disappeared after the zone crashed everyone’s client out of the map a few months ago. Upon recreation of the zone instance when players rejoined, the Shatterer events went to a full 3-hour wait.

Now if Temple of Dwayna events get stuck on a server, I wonder if all players leaving the zone could fix that.

…oh, right — can’t, due to farmers at Union Waypoint.
