OK, not sure if this is the right section to post. But for nearly 5 days now I have been unable to use Gem Store or Currency Exchange. All I get is a blank screen, however Trading Post, Sell On Trading Post, and My Transactions sections work. I read that deleting gw2cache may fix the issue. However I have searched my entire computer and I cannot find any cache files related to GW2. My game seems to be failing to create its cache files, so this is why I’m posting in the game software area. I have the game installed on my second hard drive. I run Windows Vista 64, with 2 250GB HD, 4GB RAM, 2.67GHz 2 Quad Core Processor.

I’d be happy to answer any questions if it help resolve this issue.

Thank You.

Hi Arisen,

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve had the same exact issue and I fixed it by deleting the cache folder. The cache folders are in a hidden folder called AppData which may be why you can’t find it. In your window’s explorer, you have to manually enter the folder address to the address bar to view the hidden folder.

ie:
C:\Users\replace_your_user_name_here\AppData

From there, navigate to Local folder, Temp folder, then the gw2cache folders.

Hope that helps!

Sadly it does not, I’ve already checked hidden files. Even with show hidden files on, my search comes up empty. My cache folder just is not being created.

I recommend that you contact support (link at the top of the page) and get them to work with you individually. They can help you troubleshoot the issue.

If you want to try to work on this while waiting to hear back from Support, you might take a look at whether you are running the game with administrative rights — this can affect whether the GW2 program is able to create the cache, which in turn affects the display. (There are some stickies in the support forum that can walk you through this.)

Good luck.
