Since yesterday morning I’ve had an issue attempting to buy gems.

Once I click on ‘Confirm’, i get an error: “Unfortunately an error has occurred. Please try again later”. The problem has persisted for over 36 hours.

The card is good. Used it today outside of the game as well as yesterday.

Wondering if anyone is having a similar issue.

Did that yesterday. Received a reply “we got your request and are looking into it….” but it’s been over 24 hours since then and it’s still a problem.

Just wanted to see if other players are having a similar issue.

I had the same thing!
I was trying to pay 1600 gems for 20 euro’s.
I tried again as they told later, so tried it for another 4 times for 20 euro with having the same error.
And next day they took 5 × 20 euro’s = 100 euro’s from me paypal! And filled me gem bag with 8000 gems! Without let me know!
NICE SCAM ANET!

I tried again as they told later, so tried it for another 4 times for 20 euro with having the same error.
And next day they took 5 × 20 euro’s = 100 euro’s from me paypal! And filled me gem bag with 8000 gems! Without let me know!

You need only contact the Billing CS Team to have them assist you, and correct the error. Do NOT chargeback the purchases, as that will lead to account closure.

You could try. But if you actually spent the gems, it’s not likely they’ll refund you the money. Yes, it was their program(s) that caused the charges, but it was still your responsibility to contest the charges if they were in error. You should have contacted support as soon as the multiple charges happened.

Gem Refunds

If you purchased Guild Wars 2 Gems from the Gem Store and would like a refund, please submit a request to our Support team within 30 days of the purchase and provide the following information:

The amount of gems purchased.
Your billing zip code or postal code.
If the payment was attempted by credit/debit card, please provide ONLY the last 4 digits of the credit/debit card used.
If the payment was attempted using PayPal®, the invoice ID from your PayPal® payment history for the transaction.

Note: If you have used the purchased gems, you may not be eligible for a refund.

Even thought the Gems were purchases in error, it is unlikely they will refund the purchase price if you experience gain from said error. You can’t use the Gems, then dispute the purchase.

Arete, are you using Paypal as a payment provider?

I have had the same problem and it was a problem with Paypal denying the transaction.

If you are using Paypal I would give them a ring/email to see what is up on their end, if not then ignore what i just said.

I am in the middle of trying to buy HoT and I cannot use Paypal because of this same issue and I also do not have a credit card to use.
