Godskull Harpoon Gun Skin
Bumping because this has been bugged since April this year. I have been using the Godskull Harpoon skin for my underwater weapon for two years now and I really hate the rifle skin it was replaced with. Please someone fix this and bring back the skin I paid for.
It looks like someone updated the wiki images. I see no difference between the two weapons :/

That’s the old skin

But, that skin^ does not look like it belongs in the Godskull set of weapons. No turquoise/blue band.
Perhaps, it was a bug before, and was ‘fixed’. /shrug
The image you posted (the “old” skin) looks like a slightly altered version of the Godskull Impaler (spear). I believe you when you say the skin was changed, but I can’t imagine that a harpoon gun that wasn’t a gun at all (and almost shared the same skin as the same set’s spear) was intended. The old version was probably the bugged version.
The Warden Speargun has a similar “issue”. The one bought from the vendor uses the skin from the Warden Rifle, but there is another, unobtainable speargun skin that would be much more appropriate.

It looks dramatically different from the spear. The spear is a huge chunk of animal bone, the harpoon gun is a more elegant design.
It matters to me because of every harpoon gun skin in the game, the Godskull Harpoon Gun was the one I chose – not a freaking rifle. I used my transmutation charge to use the skin that was in the game in 2012 and 2013. I used that skin happily for over a year until it was removed mistakenly in the April Feature Pack.
Some players use the fractal or rapier sword skins because they offer something unusual or different from what’s standard in the game, I used the Godksull Harpoon Gun (old version) specifically because it looked the way it did. It’s clearly not a bug – it had it’s own unique skin that was not a duplicate of anything (unlike the current skin which is obviously mistaken port of the rifle skin, probably because someone didn’t realise the godskull set had it’s own harpoon gun skin – maybe they mistook the harpoon gun skin for the spear skin).
This bug has been in the game since April and it’s still in the game. Please fix it ArenaNet. I want my harpoon gun skin back.
I’ve attached an image that hopefully helps explain what the problem is. The first skin is the original Godksull Harpoon Gun skin. It’s the one I was using prior to the April 2014 update. It is definitely the Godskull Harpoon Gun skin as no other weapon in the game has the same skin as it and it is currently unavailable since the April 2014 update. The second skin is the current bugged skin used by the Godskull Harpoon Gun. This is the new skin for the Godskull Harpoon Gun and is a duplicate of the Godskull Musket (rifle skin).
The third image is the Godskull Spear because someone suggested the original skin looked like the spear. You can clearly see it doesn’t. The final image is the Godskull Musket (rifle) and that’s the skin that was copied over the proper skin for the harpoon gun.

so you are saying you want your harpoon gun to look NOT like a gun but instead you want a harpoon shooting trident/spear? I indeed miss the old bugged beaded underwater weapons, i think all of them were swapped around (speargun was the trident skin, ect). Basically the speargun had the wrong skin before wardrobe came out and they did something to fix it, and now that it has a proper GUN skin you are upset. Well i miss when on a medium armor charr if you put on vigil leggings and put on a shield it would clip backwards and upsidedown in your armpit, might as well revert that too.
