Myself and several guildmates are unable to equip any diving goggles. After pushing F, we get a message that we cannot use this object at this time. We’ve tested 4 different sets of goggles on 3 maps and even had a person try a set of goggles they do not have credit for.

I approve this! I did all 37/38 diving points yesterday and did got all credits..and I spent 1 hour in the not so secret JP trying to get the last one…and a message shows “you can’t use that object”…I attached the screen shoot below..please fix this ASAP

Same problem here, tried 3 locations with 2 differents characters and can’t use the googles….

It seems like the account unlock change did not take into account players with existing characters. I was able to use the googles with my level 11 character before this patch in the Idea Incubation Lab but now today I can not access them.

The problem seems indeed to be with existing characters. Made a new mesmer tonight and could use the ones in Idea Incubation Lab

Two years gone, and still I can’t finish my Dive Master achievement. I did 6 full round for past year, and still 37/38.

How the dizzle does ANet manage to break so much of the game every single time they touch it? Perhaps they need to double or even triple the number of people working on bug and broken content fixes. Or an even better idea: How about they make a legitimate test server so every player in the game isn’t given broken content with every new patch? These are my opinions anyway.

I read about the goggles in the release notes and realised I never got the achievement.
All my chars (5) are level 80, tried 5-6 different diving locations but always get the box that I can’t use the item…

Same. Just tried on a new level 24 alt and can’t use any goggles I’ve found. I have 11 level 80’s, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Can’t interact with any goggles on all existing characters

Also unable to access any diving points. This is ridiculous. I have 100% map completion. Am I supposed to pretend I’m level 1 to try to unlock crap with my level 80 toons?!

Same here. Extremely annoying. All my characters are over the level at which you unlock them, so now I can’t even unlock them by leveling up.

Before level 11. At least it that is how it was before the account unlock patch that broke it for existing accounts with no new characters.

Level 73 Mesmer, created 45 days ago — can’t use goggles at No So Secret. Already have Diving Master achievement on account. This toon has yet to complete the “Krytan Politics” story line.

Same problem here. Seems like nobody cares about that problem. Must be hard to fix this. Maybe Anet should begin to hire programmers, who actually can code, instead of filling updates with bugs and then don’t care about it.

This is insanely annoying. Finally got to the goggles (on my level 80) in Dry Top to discover that I couldn’t use them.

This is absurd.

A simple level check would have sufficed. Why make a complex “unlock” mechanic?

“if (level > X) { allow use; }”

Level 22 char with 9 level 80s on same account still not able to use the goggles.
Both the fact that the fix does not work as well as the intended level restriction for new players (at which level does Anet think we are able to handle the goggles?) is a shame.
GW2 just isn’t the game anymore that I loved to play for 2 years.

Have 10 lvl 80 characters, and even tried unlocking it with a new low level. Completely broken at the past 5 locations I’ve tried.

So diving goggles can’t even be unlocked by creating a new character and levelling it past 11? That’s really bad. >.< Hopefully this bug gets addressed soon.

Or, they could finally tell us what they are clearly putting all their resources on. There is clearly something big in the works that has taken most of the dev resources. If they just announced it already, we as customers would be more forgiving of these mistakes.

Being a (non-game) developer myself, I’d say that throwing a bunch of extra developers in the pack is not the way to go. They need to get up-to-speed with how things work @ Anet, need guiding and probably some training before they’re fully ‘employable’. This takes time and responsability from other developers leaving even fewer time for actual development / bug fixing.

In this case – the goggles bug – it seems it could’ve been avoided easily if it was tested properly by the Test & Q/A team (I do hope Anet has one !). At least – and this is just my opinion – it isn’t a difficult test case…

I hate that JP, and hate it even more that i will have to do it to get that last set of goggles. That being said, yeah reported this bug again last night.

Why would you even try to put any kind of level lock on these things? They’re just diving glggles…

Same here. Can’t use dive goggles on any existing characters on my account. Which is all of them but one.

I patiently tried and finally succeeded in unlocking the diving goggles for my account :

all you have to do is to level a new or already existing character up past 15. Of course if you use an already existing character it must be lower than 15 at the beginning

I’m having the same issue. Tried multiple locations, and still I am unable to use any diving goggles. Sent a bug report in. XD

Having the same problem as well and I’m at the not so secret JP one. Don’t feel like leaving that spot til they fix the problem.

It doesn’t seem that someone care about that bug. I think you will stand there forever.

I can’t imagine the goggles are a high-priority bug as they aren’t blocking PS or LW progress.

I also don’t understand why they are level-locked at all, as a level 2 Asura has goggles in their home city and right outside said city. Similarly, a level 2 Sylvari has goggles in The Grove. These are things found in non-combat areas and should be available to any character, in my opinion.

I’ve heard nothing back here or on the ticket I submitted in game.

Same problem here. I have 2 level 80 characters from before the feature pack update and neither of them can use diving goggles. It just gives me the same error message everyone has reported here. I already had at least 18 locations completed also before the feature pack and would like to eventually get around to finishing the achievement.

To anyone who thinks it should be a simple fix, it might not be as easy as some might think. I’m not a developer or that great with computers but I trust Anet is doing the best they can. Just be patient. They can’t fix everything all at once. Some things just take a while to fix. Heck, we’re still waiting for sound fixes like the salvage-o-matics, slingshot skin, and Sharkmaw Caverns jumping puzzle in Lion’s Arch.

So in other words, I hope ye brought a deck ’o cards. Bug fixes take a while.

Yep can’t use goggles anywhere on any of my characters. Get the same error as everyone else here.

After reading this thread previously, when I happened upon some Diving Goggles today, I fully expected to be unable to use them. Much to my surprise, I had no issue with putting them on, and diving off the cliff my Level 80 character stood upon.

I have, however, leveled up a few key characters since the patch, so maybe that is the trigger. /shrug

Even though it’s not specifically mentioned in the release notes, I am able to equip diving goggles again!
