Gold through mail, hasn't arrived yet.
How can you be positive you sent it to the correct character/Account name? Did you screenshot it at the time?
Remember, new accounts have some limits on what they can send/store/receive, etc. It may just be a matter of time.
is his mailbox full? because sometimes when it is, he wont get any more mails coming through… just a thought

Could be anti-goldselling, though - there’s a definite limit to what new accounts can send, and probably receive too.

Possibly, your friend has never deleted any messages he received from in-game sources (e.g. every heart vendor sends a message when their heart is filled). These may clog up his/her inbox. Ask your friend to also delete all these messages.
If the gold is still not received after that, you may have mistyped your friend’s name while sending the message.
