After completing the event where Gort’s humble home is being attacked by a group of Ettin, the chest reward he drops for those who took part in the event appears as opened as soon as it spawns, walking up to the chest leaves no option to do anything with it. There are zero functions available with the chest, which should be lootable.

Anybody else encounter this issue?

Edit: It would appear that logging out and logging back in fixes this issue, though it still shouldn’t happen.

Yes. the chest is bugged. It’s always been open every time I’ve done the event.

I reported this same issue in a separate thread only minutes ago.

My thread title is “Kessex Hills dynamic event reward bugged (Gort the giant)”. Could they perhaps be merged?

wait a minute i found this place on my server and the chest was there so i looted it? i thought it weird i dident have to do anything for it?

I also had a problem with this chest. It was not lootable.

That was working during the beta though.

I just experienced this problem last night. I was playing with several friends (one of whom I was literally sitting next to while playing), and the player I was sitting next to left the area when Gort went to reveal the chest. He was the only player who was able to loot it; all of us who stuck around waiting for Gort to reveal it were unable, but when my friend came back because we told him about the chest, it was sealed for him and he looted it without issue.

Not sure if that is the case for everyone, just wanted to point it out.

I’ve had the same issue today- I do the event, but the chest appears open to me, and I can’t interact with it. The other person in my party was also bugged, but two other people in the area weren’t. Zoning doesn’t help, but I haven’t tried logging.

Nope, still bugged. Chest appears as open and can’t interact with it. Have tried zoning, logging out & back in, not following Gort, making sure I get an attack in on every ettin, and not attacking anything, just waiting outside the cave.

Same bug happened to me and to people that did the Ettin events with me. After Gort’s house is free, he smash down the bottom wall of the cave, unveiling the chest.
Unfortunately the chest is already open and can’t interact with it (that’s a shame: the event with such hidden reward was a nice surprise!)

This bug is still active. I encountered it just now (Sep 30, 8:45 UTC) on server Riverside.
