Hi all, just want to check if this is something simple I am missing or if it will require me to submit a ticket -

basically I bought a Grandmaster Training Manual (to be able to use up to 30 points in a single trait line), and the required level is 60 (I am in the 70s at the moment) – however I can’t double click it to consume, I hear the sound-animation but nothing happens and I can still only put 10 in each trait line.

Tried relogging, different areas etc. not sure what I am doing wrong or if it’s a bug.

Thanks in advance for any help .. as you can imagine I am performing at a totally sub-optimal level in game due to this ..

edit : Just thought I’d add that the Manual stays in my inventory ..

Which indeed I never did, cheapo me thought I’d make up my mind later and save some copper – cheers man I shall try this now!

I bought each manual as I went through the levels, but at 78 want to respec my traits. Bought a Grandmaster Manual (2nd one I’ve had) but I’m getting situation as above – makes the noise but doesn’t clear my traits.

Currently have a 30/25/13 split – so have clearly used before – but now just makes the noise and does nothing else.

Solomod, that is because you do not buy another book to retrain your traits. Instead you need to select the ‘retrain my traits’ option from your trainer.

Ouch, OK thanks – shame the text on the book icon isn’t clearer – suggests otherwise. Ah well, guess I’ll just sell it at a loss on the Trading Post :0)

i got caught out by this too.
on my ranger i maxed out the first tier all to 10 at 60 and presumed i could just buy the grandmaster book to unlock the rest of the tree.
as a suggestion id say either raise the level req for the last book or remove them and offer the unlock as a direct sale from the npc

Just got his by this too. Nowhere does it state that you need to buy/consume the previous manual, so I assumed I could save a gold.

So in other words, we are punished if we don’t want to spend the upgrade for the second book and hold out till we can use the third.

Thanks ANET for something that is total b.s., is unnecessary, and forces us to spend more money.

Agree with above comments: GM Training Manual needs to be made more clear that it doesn’t work again to reset traits. RIP OFF!

I had to read this to figure out what the problem was. This should be changed, it’s kind of dumb. If we have to spend money why can’t it just be done from the trait panel?
