I spotted this little graphical error/bug in the Plains of Ashford near the Ascalon City Ruins. The error is on a Hawk.

This is a mac beta issue it seems, it was all over the Mac beta forums when it first started. Maybe try to get a good screen in game and submit a report there using /bug.

(the Mac forums are not currently being monitored and as this is a bug, it was reported here it seems, good call IMO as it would never get fixed if not made aware)

I do wonder if this will be getting fixed in the coming patch/update.

It’s unfortunate there are so many new threads for the same issues flooding the forums and us maccies can’t get a response to one issue on our threads or any where else. (we wouldn’t post here if the Mac threads were being reviewed by Anet, but they’re not)

So please, hear our voices too! Most of our issues are fixed by following one of 4 different steps, but whole client issues like this won’t get fixed unless someone hears or sees us waving our flag. At least let us know you hear us and that help will be on the way eventually. Thanks.

Sadly, this wasn’t fixed in the update. This bug was introduced in the march 26th update.

If you go to the Ruins of Rin, you can watch several hawks flying around there with bursts of light radiating from their chests across the screen. This is also true for ranger pet hawks.

It makes me sad that possible nudity bugs are addressed immediately, a bug that may not be consistent and probably only found by a small number of people…where this one can be seen by all Mac users… Quick hawks!!! strip off your feathers! Lol

I’ve got a few more photos that I’m hoping a dev will see and finally address for us.

This issue occurs on hawks around the environment and ranger pet hawks alike. This is very distracting! I also recently encountered it within a dungeon with a Ranger using a hawk.

Please acknowledge this issue and let us know a fix is in the works. This started occurring just after the 3/26 patch. Only on Mac client.

Thanks for posting that! I know this problem exists on ALL Mac installs. I’m really hoping one of the devs will see this and give us an update or something.

I play on Mac client too, and I’ve got the same glitchy hawks problem for a while now. Hope it gets fixed soon. Will try to screenshot it and post here to provide more evidence.

I have no idea what changed since the 26th of March, but we haven’t even received a response about this, nor has it been fixed.

Ashley on the tech support forums mentioned that we should still be posting our Mac client bugs here (considering that Anet is no longer supporting the Mac client forums)… So here we are posting and yet nothing still.

Where are you guys? Are you even listening to us Mac customers? One month without a response, what is going on?

You must realize that they have a lot of other bugs to fix and they can’t look at all of them in a matter of days. I report a bug of 4 winged hawks and it wasn’t fixed for about 3 months, so you have to give them some time before spamming posts. Have you tried report the bug in-game? I believe you will get a quicker fix that way because you can select the different departments so the bug report gets to the correct dev/artist to view it.
Also, they can’t fix bugs until there’s an update or patch because they have to shutdown the servers to incorporate the new files and data, so bugs are never an easy fix. If the bug hasn’t been address by the next major update, I think then it’s appropriate to repost the graphic bug.
I’m not a dev, but I know a thing or two about the background of game developing so I’m more sympathetic to devs and the artists that work endless to make the game as perfect as they can.

I know a thing or two also… this bug was implemented on March 26th, I’ve reported it in-game about 30 times. It’s been reported on the mac forums, but since those haven’t been supported in 5 months now, it will never be seen there. I’ve also been on the tech support forums and had a dev recommend I come here. As a matter of fact, it seems that the mac client isn’t supported at all any more, so I figure a squeaky wheel will eventually get oiled. There have also been, oh let’s see, about 10 patches since then, including several major updates… So a daily post isn’t exactly spamming… just keeping it current considering the fact that us mac users are ignored regardless.

I have sympathy for them, but mac users are starting to feel a little like the unwanted step-child.

Yes, another patch has gone by and these flashy hawks still exist.

But is this possibly the start of a fix or a passive acknowledgement of this issue?

Do I see Cliff Bats in place where hawks used to be? I’m still always keen to see an official acknowledgement though

Would really like to know why the hawks in the Ruins of Rin were changed to Cliff Bats? I mean, that’s 3 hawks out of the hundreds throughout the world flashing all over the place plus ranger pets, why change them and not fix the issue or at least let us Mac peeps know you’re working on it?

Any response at all to “why change the hawks to cliff bats in the ruins of rin” would be great… at least that would exhibit some level okittennowledgement.

For the sake of the kittens… Why does no one from Anet read this!? Or even say “looking into it” 20 second response, hardly any time out of the busiest person’s day.
