I’m having some problems with the new map. As the title indicates, after completing Sun Warming’s heart, I do not have access to the Grawl Firestone. Also, frostbitten suet no longer drops for me. All of this started to happen after I beat the final boss of the living story. Thank you.

I cant buy a Grawl Firestone at the Heartvendor.
I tried it with multiple characters, but nothing.
One char had the story down.

I really would like to finish 3 archivments but i cant because i cant brew the potion for this day.

bugged for me too done the Grawl heart today vendor wont sell me the firestone cant make elixir for today and cant enter bitter cold

Same for me. Had to make it again after bug patch last night. Did the heart had the ingredients and can’t make it so I can’t get to the frozen waterfall.

Same, can’t buy it.

Same, it stop progress cause without frost protection cant complete most arch.

I logged in again today to see if the patch fixed it and still nothing. I’m running the story with another character to see if that circumvents the problem.

Same here, the Fire Stone won’t show up in the vendor menu… hopefully it will be fixed soon

Yup, same for me too. Just missing achievments who i need Cold resist elixir and that Blessed Grawl firestone isint on sale. I think ill just wait at Thoorne house, at least he will hug me =p

Im having the same problem. My cold resistance buff cleared itself somehow, and I am unable to get the firestone to finish the map up in the bittercold area. I can no longer get suet either. I have 55 of the suet and plenty of the other ingredients as well. The blister cauldron tells me I don’t have the recipe to make the elixir, even though I have already made the elixir and beat the ice beast to finish the story. Ive restarted the story, but have not yet gotten to the part where I can remake the elixir yet, guess I will see later today.

What is meant to happen is that once the story is done, the journal indicator points to where you need to go to get the ingredients and the heart vendor by the grawl will sell the firestone.

If none of that is happening for you guys, then it’s def a bug to be flagged up

also bugged for me, it doesnt show up in the vendor tab despite the heart being completed.

ive completed the story and am currently on my second time through, the heart no longer has the grawl firestone for sale for me, and I can no longer loot the suet. Ive already submitted a bug report ingame, so now im just playing the waiting game.

I also have this problem, additionally I am unable to speak to the Grawl “Collector [Merchant]” NPC within the Grawl area.

I am having the same problem I can’t achieve the Firestone and therefor not continue with achievements…

Same issue. I’ve tried remaking the shrine while completing the heart and they still do not appreciate my hard work. On top of that, suet doesn’t want to drop on alts.

I’ve completed the story, completed the renown heart, spoken to Sun Warming and there’s no option to purchase said item to create the thawing elixir.

Other details, not sure if helpful or not. I do not have the warmth / elixir buff. Story was completed before reset 11/21.

I talked to the grawl before I did the heart. I need 2 more achievemennts
1 is disabled and 1 is unreachable, both making me unable to progress

So I completed the story before reset on the first day and was able to buy another Grawl Firestone from the Heart vendor for the daily after reset. Later that day I started replaying the episode to work on the instanced story achievements. I found that today I was unable to buy the firestone, but I had a hunch. I went back and replayed up to the point of getting the firestone the first time and not only did the grawl give me another free firestone it reappeared as purchasable on the vendor. In essence if the bug you are experiencing is the same as mine then its caused by replaying the episode resetting the flag that allows you to buy the firestone from the vendor.

Did you restart the story at some point?

I don’t know if it’s related, but the Elixir Addiction daily automatically completed for me when I logged on. If it had given me the cold resistance as well, I’d have no need for a firestone, but I want to redo the instance in the Bitter Cold to get the achievement. Not today I guess.

still bugged for me put in a support ticket yesterday. also I do not get suet drops either. did finish the story on the 21st and restarted the story to get the rest of the achievements and that is when I noticed I could not get the drops or purchase the item. they need to just make it a permanent buff after you do it once, problem solved.

Glad to see I’m not the only one. Hope it get’s fixed soon, it’s kinda hard to get into bitter cold without.

Edit: and in case it’s useful, I got the problem with the firestone after i restarted the story to do achievements. And also realized I also got the suet not dropping problem.

This Works..Just do the story to the firestone part and bug fixed

I also cannot get the Suet or Firestone, either on characters who have completed the story steps or those who have not.

BTW, this is exactly why I said making this thing a repeating fetch quest instead of a permanent accountwide buff was a bad idea.

I’ve completed the story with only 2 achievements remaining in bitter cold. I too can no longer get a firestone or suet no matter what I do on any toon.

Apparently replaying the story makes you do all the steps again to get the firestone: Please fix this, if someone’s already done the entire story they shouldn’t need to worry about replaying it and losing that progress.

So for those of us that have the bug we are pretty much out of luck until a fix gets put in place???

Why not just make it a permanent buff when you complete the story, lot less headaches.

Speaking as one who blithely “Restarted the episode” and could no longer buy stones – completing the repeat missions has not only re-enabled the vendor, but got me the free story line stone (again).

We probably won’t get a fix till next week, and I like the permanent buff idea. Don’t really see the point of having to do the recipe everyday, other then sink berries which I don’t think would be that big of a deal because once people have the achieves/story in that area they won’t go over there anymore.

ok each character I redo past the elixir recipe can then buy firestones and find suet.

I do not wish to totally redo the story on original completer to allow alts to collect for two reasons;

One is the soulbound nature of suet.

The second is I personally never wish to do the final mission again. Please consider adding a few text options to the story.

( I Have normally completed the story on 9-22 chars over time )

Having this as a repeatable task was a stupid idea in the first place, but now it is actively broken too. Just ditch the idea and make it permanent. Yes, I do realize that will mean they have to ditch an achievement since you can’t get stacks of frostbite anymore, but that wasn’t a great one anyway.

This was what I did to get the Cold Resistance buff again.

Replay the episode until Elixir Recipe.
Do the necessary to get the ingredients. I found out that you MUST complete the Elixir Recipe story. This allowed me to buy the Grawl Firestone from Sun Warming. I also bought more than 1 Grawl Firestone so I can keep making the Thaw Elixir while waiting for Anet to fix this bug!

I also noticed that for some reason, players who complete the whole episode (like myself) cannot access the Grawl Firestone vendor after that. So don’t complete it again! :P

Not an ideal solution but I hope this helps for now >.<

I would still need to farm a bunch of Suets before this work around would help for me. Since the Suets is not dropping and will they start to drop again when replaying. Seems like a lot of work/guessing for something that should work properly.

patch to now is 3days ago and Grawl Firestone + suet still bug
i feel sad about that hope it will fix soon cause i just need that Cold Resistance buff to finish my last achievement T_T

Yes those suets did start dropping for me again when I was on Elixir Recipe. Yeah, it’s a lot of work so now I just dont continue from the Elixir Cookin’ part so that I can still get those ingredients (suet + firestone) until this is fixed.

Can’t confirm if the suets and firestone will still be available to me after I finish Elixir Cookin’ to get the Cold Resistance buff. But maybe dont talk to the quaggan at the Hot springs? Maybe this will allow you to make the Thaw Elixir over and over again without completing it.

I really hope this will get fixed soon. I put a hold on getting achievements in there after my buff ran out.

Not only does Summer not sell me the firestone but I haven’t had a single suet drop for me after hundreds of enemy kills. Is that part of the bug too.
