Guardian Trait "Inner Fire" not applying Fury
The trait reads “When you are set on fire, you gain fury.” Later in the same trait line is a Major Trait that lowers the CD on Torch skills, one of which sets the Guardian on fire. It is clearly meant to be used in synergy with the Torch skill as an active Fury buff.
Currently the buff is never applied when the skill is used. It is, however, applied when an enemy applies a burning condition on the Guardian. It would just be silly if this is working as intended; it makes no sense and is misleading, not to mention removes some depth from the class.
Inner Fire works with the Burning condition. Zealot’s Flame does not inflict Burning on yourself.
I already pointed out that it works when the condition Burning is applied. And of course Zealot’s Fire doesn’t apply a Burn to yourself. But it seems silly for the trait to only give Fury when you get a specific debuff which isn’t always present, especially when there is a skill that is worded as if it activates it, as well as making mechanical sense to go along with it.
The trait is pointless without the connect to the skill.
There are plenty of traits across multiple professions that aren’t always active. Elementalist trait that does more damage when attuned to fire, to burning foes, when the enemy has less than 33% health. Guardian trait which does more damage to burning foes. Warrior trait that does more damage when you are at less than 25% health, more damage to stunned enemies, activating Balanced Stance when hit with CC. Thief trait which does more damage when the enemy has less than 50% health. That is just some of them.
When I was in Cursed Shore the other day the Risen Pirates where pretty insistent on setting me on fire all the time. Normal pirates and destroyers too. Then there are all the classes which will set you on fire in a PvP situation.
