Guild Bank Eating Contributions
It’s an old bug tied to the way the guild bank operates. The items do not really disappear, they are just stuck in a buffer and will show up at some point. The best way to force it is to move something else to the bank (important part: use a different bank slot – the one where you originally placed disappeard item may seem empty, but is not) and back.
Since there can be several people at the same time moving things in or out of the bank, the items are not moved directly between bank and inventory, but are moved through some sort of intermediary buffer, which you can’t see, and then moved to the final destination only once the server is really sure it’s not going to duplicate/destroy anything. Sometimes refresh on this operation takes a bit long, which may result in items seemingly “disappearing”. All that it means is that they are still being moved from one place to another.

When I move items to put in guild bank, they disappear.
I’ve been having this issue for some time now only with me, its the other way around. when i take items form guild bank they don’t appear in my inventory. As the above poster said, i discovered by accident if i move another item from GB to inv, the invisible item appears.
This is the most awful cumbersome interface ever! I play other, older than gw2 games where i’m in guilds and use the GB all the time. they all work perfectly like any other bank. u just right click items in ur bag and they go to first available slot in the GB and auto stack etc. in gw2, just adding an item to a stack in the GB we’re having to perform 4 functions instead of one and with this invisible bug its 6 functions, seriously? is this the best u can do? even 3 + years after release u cannot come up with a better system? I had really hoped HoT would give us that better system but i guess not.

This issue didn’t exist until about a year ago? maybe 18 months? I don’t believe that problem existed before then, and it’s been complained about a lot, but it’s something we’ve dealt with for so long now that it’s just become a quirk of the game. As others have said, just move another item. There is an issue with inventory and guild bank not syncing properly. Probably related to how the guild bank doesn’t act like your inventory nor how your account bank work.
Good that QA was finally able to investigate it and prompt a fix to be worked on.

Heh I remember the time when it took something like 3 hours for an item I moved out of the guild bank to finally appear. The additional annoyance with these limbo items is that they don’t show up in the guild bank but the move is also not reflected in the log until the move completes.

oh some people had issues with it longer than that? That’s about when it started getting really widespread and known then. That’s even worse in some ways, but less surprising it wasn’t looked into before. There were a lot of bugs from release that were missed and only more recently looked into. It isn’t a high priority issue though since the item doesn’t actually disappear.
