So, I’m in a guild and am representing, yet I cannot see or talk in guild chat. When I type /g and then type something, I get the message ‘you are not in a guild’ despite the fact that when I press G I can see everyone and can see all the guild rewards and such.

Anybody else had this before?

Need some help here, can’t access the guild on any character.

If it’s not a big deal, I’d try just leaving the guild and getting a re-invite to see if that fixes it. If you’re a guild leader that may not be feasible. :p

Tried that, restarted over and over, have stood down, tried logging to other characters the only thing I haven’t done is tried to leave the guild because I’m worried some bug might stop be being able to get an invite again for a while.

I’ve put in a support ticket so I guess I wait for them to service it.

This bug is still , started last night I asked other guildmates and they told me they have it too , for some it went away but for me it’s the same can we get an update on this ? pls

i have same problem… im locked to chat of one guild (which i use only for pvp, no people there else), cant switch to the other, even after guild change, chat remains the same :/ this persist for 2 days now

When I have this problem, it only happens in one of the main cities. As soon as I go into a PvE area, it fixes itself and I am able to represent my guild and talk in guild chat again.

Ok, just in case anybody else has this issue or gets this issue in future. I received a response from ArenaNet on this issue and they told me to get someone to kick me from the guild then re-invite. It worked and everything is back to normal again.

This bug still exists lol. Logged in today. “You are not in a guild.” Logging out of the game completely and back in doesn’t help. Turns out it was because I was set to Invisible status, so I’m mentioning this here in case someone else has that problem.

I joined a guild about 15-20 minutes ago and cannot talk in it. Chat works fine for all my other guilds just not the one I recently joined. I get the message you are not in a guild. I didn’t do a server transfer or anything out of the ordinary (except join this new guild hhh)

Tried all the regular work-arounds like going invisible and restarting.

Anet I demand eternity as compensation. Also someone please help

- Stand Down guild.
- Leave a “random guild” where the chat is working (get reinvited afterwards)
- Represent the “bugged” guild
- Go invisible -> Online
- Try to speak in guild chat.

Edit2: Follow those steps EXACTLY; tried winging steps on another guild and it did not work.

I found some issues concerning the guild-options/interface…maybe u could fix this – cause i rly want to talk to my mates and want to build some guild-catas!
- Guild-Workshop isn’t working anymore, just one upgrade will be build eben with the workshop.
- A finished upgrade is stucked at 0:00-Time and can just be stopped stucking by taking another upgrade into the qeue.
- The guild chat isn’t working anymore.

We’ve been having the same issues in our guild as well. Chat problems seem varied across users, but we’re only able to build one thing at a time and have had upgrades hang until they’re forced through, as well.

You can fix the guild chat by having the user appear invisible and then online again.

I am having the same issue with guild workshops though, only being able to build 1 item at a time.

same here i logged in took longer getting in game, as guild leader i always use guild chat to interact with members, and now guild chat isnt working, it wont post what i say, says"your not in guild", and “no one hears you”, this bug needs to get fixed pls

For the guild chat bug: Open friends list, set yourself to invisible, close friends list, open friends list, set yourself to online and close friends list. It should work now. It’s not a “fix” but at least a workaround.

For the stuck upgrade: Queue up a new item into the build queue. It should complete the first item and start the next item in the queue. It’s not a “fix” just a work around.

For the workshop only allowing one upgrade: I haven’t found a way to work around that bug yet.

I’m having a different guild chat issue. I have three chat tabs:
-Party: for party and whisper
-Guild: for guild only
-Map: for say/map/team/squad/emotes

Guild chat is working normally while I have that tab open. When a guildmate writes something, my Party tab turns red (notification). If I leave the Guild tab, all text is erased upon returning to it.

Edit: More info- Guild chat appears in whichever tab I am currently looking at, and is erased after switching tabs.
Any fix found for that?

Queue-ing up another item for build DOES work around the issue of things getting stuck at 00:00. HOWEVER I had 3 things cooking, I was running an Asuran Outsourcing and I only received credit for 2/3 things that should have been done. The 3rd I did not receive credit for, nor is it still in the queue it is just gone completely.

Just joined a guild, aaaaaaaaaaand its broken again.

Since last update (16/03/2015) I can’t interact with my guild because my guild chat is empty. They can read me but I can’t read them and if I write something in the guild chat, change to mai chat and change back i can’t see hat i wrote; I tried going invisible but it doesn’t work for me.
Plus I hear random NPC talking in the middle of nowhere.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I got a response to my ticket yesterday (that I submitted right after patch) and that they’re aware of the problem. Hopefully a fix is implemented soon so all of our upgrades work normally.

I have something close to the issue Rhapsody has – guild chat messages disappears from the main chat window if I switch chat tabs, but remains in the guild chat window.

Also, today, the guild chat messages I recieved was not from the guild I represent, but from another guild I am a member of, but did not represent at that time.

They always say ’we’re aware of the problem and are working to fix it’. A likely story!

I have the exact same issue. My comrades can read me but i can’t read them. My mini and pets shows the guild i’m representing. Any help?

Ever since the patch that introduced the initial Guild Chat bug (fixed by going invisible and online again), my Guild Chat for certain guilds is broken entirely. I cannot see their chat, and it says I’m not in a guild if I attempt to write (sometimes it appears on the guild chat I represented immediately before). Going invisible, visible does not work. Leaving and rejoining does not work. I have 4 other guild mates with the same issue but haven’t seen much traction; anyone else? Voodoo fixes?

I’m in two guilds. When I represent one guild, I see the guild chat from my other guild instead of the one I’m representing. What’s going on here? Is anyone else having this problem?

I’m also having this problem. Also occasionally when I talk in guild chat it says “You are not in a guild”. but I have the guild tag and my guild screen says that I am.

same here and i keep seeing guildchats from a guild im in but not representing. then i wanna chat and i cant as it says not in guild. but im in 4 guilds and cant see the chat on my main one only the chat from another even when not repping it. what is going on?

ugh this is sooo annoying i keep seeing the guildchat from one of the guilds i never rep and they talk sooooooooooo much im about to leave all guilds and start new if this doesnt get fixed!!!!!

Have you tried to change your status from online to invisible and back to online again? That usually works after they have posted the fix for guild chat.

Same here. I’ve tried every troubleshooting measure that’s come up recently and nothing seems to work. I’ve tried going invisible and online, i’ve tried rebooting, i’ve tried switching which guild I’m repping and I’ve tried leaving and joining back.

Yesterday all of my guild chats were working but one. Today none of them is working and I keep seeing the guild chat that WASN’T working yesterday. In any case, I can’t speak in either.

Sometimes doing the press “Y” go invisible offline then back online again works and some days it does not. When it does not work I get message saying I am not in a guild and I cannot type chat to the guild or see the guild’s chat.

My guild got a new member yesterday who can’t access guild chat too. The contacts “improv fix” also doesn’t work for her.
And she can chat on her personal bank guild.

I’m having the same problem. If I’m representing another guild while joining a new one and then repping that new one, my messages show up in the old guild instead of in the new one.

I got a strange guild chat bug in which I cant see the chat of the guild im repping but see it from the previous guild I was repping (if that makes sense lol)

so for instance I’m repping the guild AW (Avalons Wraiths) I dont see this chat at all so I stop repping and go to ANGL (Angels of Ethernal Destiny) I dont see the chat from ANGL but from AW… but when I try to type of msg says im not in a guild.

I tried the trick everyone in map chats says to go invisible and go back online. It has no effect to this issue when I tried it four or five times.

Anyways thats the best I can describe it.

I also have a problem with the Guild Chat. I can only read the messages from my main guild (GOTD) if I represent another (FTF). When I represent one of my other guilds, there’s nothing to read.

Many members of my guild have reported similar problems. Most of my guild is new players as we try to help them learn the game, this is crushing to my guild and the players as it adds so much confusion and destroys the point of recruiting when they can’t even speak or ask for help.

This has been on-going for several days.

Same problem here. Seeing text from alternate guilds which I am not repping, and able to chat with them. When I actually rep the alternate guild and type in guild chat neither me or guildies can see my chat.
I’ve also encountered the “You are not in a guild” error every time I login and type in guild chat since the major patch.
Switching status to invisible and online is not working.
Please fix.

The same kinda problems for me. I sent in a bug report ticket. I tried leaving all guilds and it worked for all except the one I want to chat in the most.

It has been difficult since I’m in transitions between guilds and trying to get to know people.

I rep one guild and no one in that guild can see it, but then someone from a different guild whispers me that they just saw what I wrote, even though even I can’t see it. I have to go invis/uninvis to get anything to work even part of the time. It’s really frustrating for me and the friends. I’m getting sick of “you are not in a guild” and “no one hears you” even when it should be working.

Try going invisible and then re-visible. That usually fixes it for most people. (Still a bug that needs fixing, but at least there’s a workaround.)

I know there was an issue with guild chats not working with the latest update, but mine is still not working. I don’t see any guild chat, regardless of character or guild (and yes, I have tried switching). However, it no longer tells me that I’m not in a guild, which it used to do. Any updates on this?

You can work around the bug by going invisible and then revisible. (Sometimes you have to stand down and re-rep the guild.) I’m not sure if you have to repeat the process after changing toons or repping a new guild, but so far it’s been reliable for everyone I know who’s tried it. (annoying, too, so I hope it gets fixed soon)

Okay I still have this problem about every time I log in. I found out now to press “Y” and go Invisible for 2 minutes then press “Y” again and Offline for 2 minutes and that brings guild chat back up. Still wish they would get this fixed. Don’t want make a ticket over this. Doesn’t seem serious enough and I had some serious happen over the last month that made for 3 tickets. All fixed but does any dev even read these forum threads?

Many guildies of my guild seem not able to talk in guildchat time to time.

This bug has been around for couple of days already.
Turning invis and back online does not help, neither does kicking and reinviting.

Any update on this matter?
