Ok, something really need to be done here. Since HoT, which is really great, Guild mission have been painful to do.

Guild Bounty
Well, here is what’s new : since Wintersday patch, it seems that Bounty Target can’t be interact with, as we see them no moving at all (although they might be moving server-side)

Guild Rush
Something new here too : Southsun rush couldn’t be launched at all. It was already launched by another guild, without any event activated. Could interact with the flag.

Guild Puzzle
Puzzles have been quite troublesome :
- Since guild puzzle where add to the game, waypoint were created near their start. Those waypoint are always contested, except when a guild puzzle is launch. BUT since HoT, puzzles are instantiated. So when we launch one, the waypoint is not uncontested. Basically, they are useless now.
- Being instantiated is also one cause of trouble : death or deconnection is a real problem. Today, someone died in Langmar, jumping to his curtain. Ok, you can respawn. Yes. Respawn. Behind the door, in the previous room. So 3 more people suicide themself to get back there too and re-open the door. That shouldn’t happen, and just adding more checkpoints would solve the problem (and you could relog there too).

Guild Mission Rewards
Those also habe been a problem since HoT. Previous patch did make things better, but still, some people don’t get their rewards. That is still a problem after 2 month :/
Also, no more chest at the end of rushes or puzzles is a bit disapointing. They were not really worthy, but that cheese chest at the end of Proxemics Lab was the thing giving the maze its meaning :c

Guild Portal
Well, here some thing could be done better. It is mean to send you right where the rush, challenge or the puzzle start. But it just send you to the nearest waypoint :
- that means sending you to a puzzle will always send you to a contested waypoint, as said before, and sometimes all the WP around are contested too (especially at Langmar puzzle)
- it is also being useless sometimes. For exemple, today, we took the portal to go to southsun rush. Great. WP contested, we arrived at the southsun portal, having half the map to walk, even though Lion Point WP (which is not as near as Kiel’s Outpost WP, but this nearer than the strat of the map…)

TL;DR : Guild bounty is bug since last update. Guild rush can bugged too and not end/being launched. Guild puzzle WP are useless right now, and death/disconneting in trap you out. Some people still don’t get their rewards. Guild Portal is lazzy and doesn’t get you where it should.

Surprised this isn’t getting more outcry – you can’t do the bounties at all right now, as you say.

You also didn’t mention the problems with guild challenges. For sure Scratch Sentry Defense doesn’t work, you can’t start it once you’re in the instance. Not sure if others have a problem as well.

Bounties seem bugged for sure, we did Trillia earlier but she was just standing there and no-one could interact with her.
Seconds later she was gone and when we found her again same problem.
I also came accros Felix who was also just standing there and I heard the same about Teesa.

Can’t really respond to the other mentioned problems as I haven’t ran into them yet.

Got exactly the same yesterday, at least for bounty and rush (multiple attemps, all bugged).
Talk to some people and seems they got it bugged in the same way too.

This is really anoying for small guilds that have hard time to get enough people available at the same time to perform medium and hard missions…
And I don’t talk about the loss it involves (favor, recommandation, …).

Any Anet guy aware of this issue ?

It applies to the WvW Guild missions too. We activated both a rank and supply lines one (we’ve done these many times in the past) and no rank was being gained and no matter how many of us escorted a yak, no credit was given. We had about 10-15 guild members together too.

I submitted a ticket, but the answer was basically “we don’t have a timeframe yet for a fix” and “submit an in-game bug and post on the forums”. I’ve done both thus far, so uh… let’s all post more? I have a feeling when Sat/Sun roll around we’ll see a lot more activity on the forums anyways as that’s when guilds tend to do missions.

Most of the bounties are not doable at the moment.

Rush doesn’t give credit to guild or personal unless your guild’s name is on the flag.

Puzzle waypoints are as mention by OP useless. As the matter of fact the Guild Portal should take you DIRECTYLY to the instance. Why do I want to go to the guild hall, then to the map where puzzle/ challenge is and then still talk to the flag. Wouldn’t it make more sense to get us directly into the guild instance?

Most of us don’t even use the guild portal these days, as it’s easier to just WP directly. Especially assuming that the Guild Hall instance closes and opens new maps over and over during guild missions as people come in.

This is what happened to my guild. We tried Poobadoo (twice) and Brekkabek. With Brekkabek, we could see his bear, Maully, moving normally but we still couldn’t interact with Brekkabek.

We need favor for our guild upgrades. It’s really hard to get when the missions don’t work!

Guild Puzzle
Puzzles have been quite troublesome :
- Since guild puzzle where add to the game, waypoint were created near their start. Those waypoint are always contested, except when a guild puzzle is launch. BUT since HoT, puzzles are instantiated. So when we launch one, the waypoint is not uncontested. Basically, they are useless now.
- Being instantiated is also one cause of trouble : death or deconnection is a real problem. Today, someone died in Langmar, jumping to his curtain. Ok, you can respawn. Yes. Respawn. Behind the door, in the previous room. So 3 more people suicide themself to get back there too and re-open the door. That shouldn’t happen, and just adding more checkpoints would solve the problem (and you could relog there too).

On a side note, I would like to mention that we were promised prior to HoT that we could still partner up for guild challenges and yet my small guild (3 people) cannot piggie back with our sponsoring guild (45 people) to finish challenge missions. We do not get an accept pop up and our timer keeps ticking down. Our members are members of both guilds so we get personal credit, but not guild credit. =/ It’d be nice if this was either fixed or announced that partnering has been nullified (which pretty much ruins the fact that we’re a huge community that helps each other)

All bounties are bugged, so, don’t bother doing any bounty mission.
Guild rush workaround is to find a new instance.
Guild puzzle is nothing major, even late comer who just enter 5 minute later and stuck at the entrance will still be given commendation when guild completes it.

I like PvE missions because you actually doing something you don’t normally get to do but the effort / reward is really bad for PvE. WvW can easily be done in an hour, PvP is comparable to PvE in effort / reward but some PvP missions can be more demanding in manpower than PvE. The different missions type need to be balanced in terms of effort / reward.

I am happy we get a response from a dev on guild missions problems. Something we don’t see often. But the response came around 06:00 UTC on Saturday, that is almost 5 days after the GM reset and 3 1/2 days after the Tuesday patch.

I am really disappointed in the quality of the Guild Missions. They have been more bugged than working in HoT. For most guilds Guild Missions were in a much better state before HoT than they are now. The only thing I really like are the changes to the Guild Trek. And it took several weeks after the release of HoT before Trek worked OK.

Not quite. The WvW guild mission issue is that it doesn’t show up properly on the missions screen, but they do count. My guild completed all of our WvW missions already this week, at no point did any of the counter/progress track actually go up. But we got credit once we had enough dolyak escort, wvw rank points etc. So basically we stayed at 0/5, then suddenly we got “mission complete” and the favor and personal rewards.

Yep, same for us. Worked and got credit in the end but the UI did not show progress. Same with the 3 stronghold wins PvP mission.

Guild missions have been broken – in one way or another – since the expansion (this past week was the FIRST week we were able to do them all without experiencing a bug – and that apparently has already changed) – yet the Gorseval bug with raids (which affects far fewer people) gets fixed within 2 days. This should be considered unacceptable by the GW2 community.

Missions are a part of the game many of us care about – and honestly enjoy – and would like to see expanded upon well into the future.

While were at it, can we finally (after 2 + years) get some new guild missions.

To be realistic, all we received was a reskinned way and minor reward boost for doing existing wvw and pvp content – what amounts to an interface change more or less. We have not seen a new guild mission (actually new) in two years – and we need to keep bringing it up whenever and however we can. This cannot be a game mode they let slip into mediocrity as raids (or whatever) take over.

Back onto the topic, my guild does missions every Monday night. I’m holding out some hope that we will at least be able to interact with bounty targets by then (2 months of bugged missions is way too long). Has anyone else done missions today or this past weekend that can shed some light on the current situation?

New week, same problems.

Guild Bounty
Bounty Target is seen 3-4 times on the same map but no one can activate. Nearly all bounty targets as far as it seems

Guild Rush
Can be activated but personal achievement treasures are still missing. Only the guild gets the points not the players who finished it. Well, only as long as you’re able to start the mission.

Hope the problems will be fixed as soon as possible.

Just a quick heads up about guild mission bugs. WvW challenge: Obsidian Sanctum tracks guild progress and completes for the guild but does not give any personal rewards

I have 2 links here with pictures showing both that I started it and completed it and that I didn’t get rewards for that completion.

Can we get a fix asap?

This weeks WVW missions:
- Escort 8 dollys
- Conquer 10 sentry points

Mainly because some dolly events dont count (i think the endpoint must be a keeop, towers dont count).
So it’s hard to track how many we got so far.

Guild Races (or Rushes) are still a bit of a mess. No one knows what to do when you get there and another guild has triggered and has a few minutes remaining in their rush. If anyone is on a different map instance (even if they dont activate the rush), the mission bugs for everyone and if the previous guild’s mission ends, people in our guild are kicked out of rush form.

It is confusing. It is frustrating. It is not fun.

It needs to be fixed.

Guild Races (or Rushes) are still a bit of a mess. No one knows what to do when you get there and another guild has triggered and has a few minutes remaining in their rush. If anyone is on a different map instance (even if they dont activate the rush), the mission bugs for everyone and if the previous guild’s mission ends, people in our guild are kicked out of rush form.

Agreed. The thing that’s most annoying about Rushes is the fact that the Rush ends for your guild even if you’ve got half of your timer left only because the other guild’s timer ended. This should not be the case. Ain’t nobody got time to wait 10 minutes for the Rush to end to activate it with full timer again. If the guild has its own timer on the Rush then it should be respected and not cause it to end in the middle of the mission.

Not to mention the complete uselessness of the Guild Portal. It was supposed to be useful and fun – especially because of the simple fact that we PAID to build it. Instead, we never use it for anything, which is a shame.

This is really getting old, I have a small guild, we are really lucky to get 3 people on at the same time to do any missions and when we manage to do sPvP missions they ALWAYS fail.

We are stuck at level 10!

A support ticket said they know and suck it up… really guys, that was over a month ago.

+1. We experienced this during our attempt at it this week. We also watched another guild blocked at the same spot. There are some vines that hang down over the cave entrance and you can’t get through them. We’ll try again later in the week to see if it was just related to a specific IP and/or see if it’s been corrected. We could really use that sweet sweet favor.

Also, the WvW Dolyak escort event was bugged for us (last week?) the first few times we started it. When I launched the mission, it was automatically at 8/8 but we escorted them all in anyways just to see if it was a graphical bug, but we didn’t get credit. We helped another guild get theirs and it worked no problem. We tried ours again a day or two later and it finally worked fine.

A nice “Gift of Favor: Open this one time gift to give your guild xyz guild favor” would be pretty darned nice to help us make up for the guild missions we haven’t been able to complete.

We ran into this last night as well. We were able to work around it via mesmer portal, but by the time we’d figured out how to make that work, we’d used up too much time to get the needed number of completions in. :/

Yeah, we cancelled the mission and tested portalling past. Then we lined up a couple of mesmers , restarted, and portalled. You can also find a route around to the left that requires some back tracking. Commander location markers are great for flagging the alternate route if you put the guild in a squad…

You seem to have some weird misconception about how quickly a bug gets fixed being related to how important it is. It’s more down to how easy it is to recreate the bug, to isolate what’s causing it, and how difficult fixing it without breaking anything else. Sitting on the sidelines and shouting useless things about it being unfair something in raids got fixed quicker is just pointless and misinformed.

Last Saturaday, wvw capture and hold camp was bugged for us too: capped Golanta with 7 guildies, rushed dollies for faster upgrade, but even if the camp was almost at tier 2 we didn’t get either personal and guild reward (that should be given reaching tier1 upgrade)

Today, as a 6-7 man group, we had two WvW guild missions bug out on us.

1. The “Oasis collect 3” mission immediately jumped to 3/3 power cores turned on (on the guild panel) upon activation of the guild mission. There was no reward or personal chest. We turned in 3 power cores and did not get credit (personal reward or guild credit). This has happened repeatedly. Usually, when this happens, when we abandon to restart this guild mission (when it bugs in this manner), we are unable to re-activate the mission (The button can be pressed endlessly without effect.)

2. Obsidium Sanctum challenge: We began this challenge without activating the mission. Two of us reached the near-end of the puzzle (the other end of the broken bridge). I activated the mission and portaled the remaining members up. As we approached the last building (the one with the puzzle end chest on top), we got the notification that the guild mission was completed (no one had touched the chest) but no one got personal rewards. A few of us ran up to the top and opened the chest, still no personal reward. We re-activated the mission and portaled the remaining guild members to the top where the chest is. Upon portaling, we again got the guild mission completion notification – I had members run to the chest to loot it before the notification vanished, but it made no difference; there was still no personal reward.

In-Game bug reports have been filed for these bug-occurances, but it has been well over a month since we first encountered these bugs and reported. As such, I thought it best to come onto the forum and post in this thread to expedite the de-bugging process.

We have also, routinely, encountered bugs where WvW guild missions have completed without actually completing the objective. This is random and we have no idea what causes it. Sometimes personal reward is given, sometimes it is not. Guild credit, however, is consistent. This has been observed while on inner of Air keep during a WvW Capture and Hold Keep. There have been others, but all I can remember at the moment is the air-keep-incident.

If we can be of assistance in squashing these bugs, please message me in-game as I do not frequent these forums. I believe that, for this week at least, there is a high likelyhood that we can replicate the “Oasis turn in 3 powercores” jumping to 3 / 3 cores turned in upon mission activation.

Been doing GM yesterday, still got random progress bar completely filled at the beginning of the mission (3/3 oasis core, 10k/10k wxp, 5/5 dolyak and so on) resulting in no rewards.

Hope you find out what’s causing it… I miss resonance :/

The Oasis powercore bug happened again, this time with the 5 turn in.

I also experience strange…lag? when accessing the guild panel during a guild mission. All the people on my friends list will “Flicker” online and offline, filling my chat with offline online spam. Last night it was especially bad, my screen went black twice with only the guildwars 2 mouse pointer (that could be moved freely). Each time was precedented by this flickering. Once I stopped looking at the guild mission panel, the crashes stopped. I believe this crash is related to looking at the guild missions while guild missions are active in WvW.

I will continue to collect information and report it in-game and here on the forums. When it happens again next week, I will take a screenshot and present it here.

Ran into a few issues this week -

1. Yanonka still despawns if someone elsewhere on the map interacts with another rat (this issue has persisted for at least a year now).

2. Half-Baked’s shield cannot be removed via knockbacks as intended because, using the new break bar mechanic, he doesnt actual move when knocked back. This makes the fight tedious and virtually impossible for smaller groups. Im not sure, but I’m guessing Sotz has the same issue.

Additionally, the confusion surrounding guild races is still very much an issue that should be looked at. It is impossible to know when your guild’s race begins and ends if another guild has already triggered a race – and, as a result, guilds find themselves sitting at the start for protracted periods of time.

And, I know it seems like a little thing, but is it possible to avoid putting two of the exact same race, puzzle or challenge on the list in the same week. In addition to causing even more confusion (in the case of races), it adds tedium to what should be a fun night of guild activity.

Finally (and Ive said this before), missions are the one area of the game that needs the most work, currently. We havent seen anything new in years. There are so many great things you could be doing with missions.

Here is this week’s secondary bug report.

1. WvW rank (10k) jumped to 10k/10k upon activation. We did not bother trying as this has historically meant that the mission has bugged and even if we did it properly, it would not complete or award rewards.

2. WvW supply Lines (8 yaks) also jumped to 8/8 upon activation. We did not bother trying as this has historically meant that the mission has bugged and even if we did it properly, it would not complete or award rewards.

My guild did the win one pvp match guild mission and we won the first mission. And the bar went to 1/1 but there was time left after the time ended we got a guild mission failed message.

Here is this week’s bug report, last week most of us were ill.

WvW supply lines escort 5 yaks jumped to 5/5 upon activation. As mentioned, this causes the mission to bug: unable to complete through expected methods and the mission can not be reactivated after abandoning (although we have been able to reactivate a day or so later, we have no idea what causes the ability to reactivate).

Also, many of us experienced (as shown in the screenshot) a “Can not connect to guild server” message while in wvw. When in pve, I noted that I did not receive this message.

We also encountered a bug with the WvW challenge complete obsidian sanctum.

We activated the mission shortly after entering the obsidian sanctum. Some of us attempted to run the puzzle normally, with me and another member making it to the location where we can portal other members who are jumping puzzle challenged. We portaled them up and continued.

One of our members rushed ahead and made it to the top and we received a message saying the guild mission was complete, but only half of us received the completion chest. Ironically, only members who were portaled seemed to be among the batch that received the chest – I and the other member who did the puzzle normally did not receive the reward.

We attempted to restart the mission from our position at the end of the puzzle, but those who did not receive the chest the first time still did not receive their reward.

Here is this week’s supplemental report. You can read the text shown in the screenshot (in the bug report window) for further details. We did manage to reactivate the mission perhaps two hours later and complete it. The only thing strange we did was activate multiple missions at the same time. I’d post more details, but I want to shout a string of expletives at arenanet right now for the recent, unrelated swindling this company announced.

Know that this post is less about actually trying to fix the problem and more of a laughing-in-arena-net’s-face-for-not-fixing-a-3-month-old-game-breaking-bug-that-has-been-repedidly-reported-over-and-over-and-over. …That actually felt therapeutic.

Thank you all again for continuing to post updates and screenshots; as well sending bugs to us through the bug report tool. You all have been patient and shown us a lot of grace and good will while we seek a solution.

Unfortunately we’ve not yet been able to pin down what in the guild mission system is causing this issue to afflict your guilds when it comes to the missions in the UI freaking out before and after objectives are completed. Similarly, we’ve not been able to identify what causes the issues with the WvW challenge for the puzzle. We are continuing to investigate them and apologize for the continued disruptions to your missions.

Me and some guildmates tried this today. We ( got the rewards ). Then like 5 minutes later 4 more guilmates wanted to try. We restarted the mission, they did the exact same thing as but, but none of them got the bonus chest reward even though on screen it said mission completed.

We did our WvW guild missions: WvW Supply Lines easy & WvW Supply Lines medium, and no personal rewards. It worked for us on 4/5/2016 and 4/7/2016 with the mission reset 4/11/2016 12:30am (PDT) no work. It also said: “You are eligible for rewards from this mission.” We started the mission 5 minutes after the reset.
Also, why dose the weekly favor cap reset every day?
