Guild Ranks and Inviting Members
Totally agree
I would also add the possibility / obligation to send in game mail or any other kind of message to the guild leaders , informing them that a new member was added by X player. This would help the guild leaders keeping track of the new people on the guild, as well as managing new ranks and functions for all of them.
The same goes for downranking people in the guild. Only Leaders and highly ranked members should be able to do so and all of them should be informed when someone downrank other member and the reason to do so.
Inviting people is a common, fast and incredibly efficient way of creating and improving social experience withing the game, and thus, should be encouraged for all ranks in the guilds, except when the guild leaders decide differently, for any reason like creating a specific group with very specific conditions or interests.
Most guilds have a pretty varied mix of interest, even when the guild has a clearly stated focus like WvW or PvE missions etc. That i think, its because people want to interact with each other and form groups more for the social experience than the objectives at all.
I know that there are always people who want to form specific groups, or even to play alone, but this wouldn’t hurt those people, since they would still be able to do so.
To put it simple: Its a very good way to improve guild mechanics without hurting gameplay experience IMO.
Wouldn’t you agree?
Considering this would affect every guild in the game, I really wish to know about the devs thought on this, even if you don’t agree with the above.
The biggest problem here is that if I want to give permission to my entire guild members to invite more people to the guild (what sounds pretty fair in my opinion), I must give them permission to manage the rank of other guys in the guild.
That is weird… why those permissions are set together in “Admin Lower Ranks”?!
I dont want too see members changing rank without my knowledge or even see members getting kicked with no reason by others…
Good thread.
