Ever since the quick dye update Nov 5, our guild is gone and party chat does not work at all. Some are also reporting that guild chat and whispers are broken.

Relog doesn’t work. Seems most of the people in my WvW BG is having this issue.

same problem here relogging didn’t work, tarnished coast. I was in a WvW when i noticed a guildie confirmed it via mumble while he was in frostgorge sound

yes, same for me guild is gone, party are gone..fix dye drop rate and have to deal with this now?

Same issues. The new patch has introduced a major bug!!! Revert this patch quickly!!!! No guild and party is broken!! (in one but it doesn’t show it) So of the ther players in my guild are also experiencing these issues.

Add one more to the list. It also keeps putting me as “invisible” no matter how many times I change it back to “online”

I had a little issue right after patch. Guild list was showing 1/1, but after a bit, it came back. Then just now, everyone went away. No more parties or guild. :/

yeah we cannot start partys cannot join parties and all blaming each other for getting booted out of the party. when infact the party system just caved in.
Also i cannot see mu non represented guild/

See this is what happens when you rush in a patch to fix droprates for dyes …

Instead of prioritizing and appropriately addressing game breaking main storyline bugs like:

Same issue here, I think its just the Dye god gets mad.

umm, how about they focus on WvW rendering and more important stuff like that. since that is all there is to do in this game after lvl 80

My guild is also gone. I was playing with my girlfriend, who sits right behind me at her own desk. We’re both online, but it says we’re not online in each others’ contact list. We can’t group up with each other. Her guild is still there, but mine’s gone for good, it seems.

I noticed I’m set to invisible, wondering if that is the culprit, but I can’t get it to stay as online.

This just happened to my guildies and I. If this is the same bug. Was in a party and all of a sudden it showed me as not, and not in a guild. I could still talk to them in /s chat, and they/I show up offline.

fixed it for myself.

1. Change status to online. (I didn’t change it to offline, the patch did, it seemed spontaneous) You can do this through your friends menu in game.
2. Quit client to desktop.
3. Restart client.
4. Double check online status at character select.
5. If it’s still offline, change here, and quit again.
6. Log back in, check to see if guild is there.

7. If it doesn’t work, yell and scream until they fix it! Enjoy!

this just happened to me, no guild, no party. apparently I am not online to anyone, but I am. others are also offline, yet I know they aren’t.

ANet: I don’t know if you just did this update right before leaving and turning off the lights for the night, but seriously, what idiot screwed up the gw2 equivalent of the friends server this badly?

Also in The Tarnished Coast and this effected myself and at least one other Guild mate. Nothing special just standing around talking in harathi and when I looked at the chat after typing “/g” it said you are no longer part of a guild!

Setting yourself to Online via Friends menu and relogging works.

Add our guild to the list of issues.

Closed client. Checked to make sure the executable was closed under Task Manager. Then, relaunched client. Yep, it worked perfectly afterwards. Spread the word.

Well… I wonder if I am losing those pending updates, architecture 3 and the guild stash hopefully will be completed when I get my guild back?

Yeah, there are several “symptoms:”
Guild chat fails
Party chat fails
Sometimes there is a LONG delay in chat going through when it’s working.
Sometimes party members appear with gold colored names, like an NPC.

Really hard to play when you can’t communicate with your guild or party effectively. Hopefully they get this fixed soon.

Just hit me. All my guilds seem to be gone and I can’t talk in guild chat or party chat.

This worked for me and a guildie.

Didn’t work for me, had to alt f4 after setting myself to online in friends.

It does. But it is a temporary fix.

I do this everytime I am knocked out of guild/party, and it will reliably fix the situation, but then 20 minutes later, my guild menu is once again explaining to me the basics of a guild!

Might I add that I’m extremely amused by this:

That a team of programmers could run a single fix on a dye drop rate and have that simultaneously detonate the game’s entire friend/guild system is very impressive to say the least.

Of course I suspect they tinkered with something in the code that is unrelated to the patched drop rate, but to the general public this is indeed what it looks like

There’s maintanence happening now, I think. Around 9:45 EST there was a message about that from the system that mentioned "in 2 hours", so perhaps that’s it. Sometimes when they are tinkering with the servers, since they can do it without kicking players offline or taking the worlds down, guild stuff gets wonky.

The bug came back AFTER relogging twice for me. Once or twice in the past hour. It just.. happens.. after being online.

Yes… I wanted to help 2 new players but problem was, the Bug wouldnt allow me to whisper them.

What is going on!?

I cant wisper, or invite them to party “This player is Not Online” and yet his typing in Map chat? When is this going to be fixed? =(

Happened to a friend, while we were partied together.

/say worked both ways. I’m guessing, but so did /map.

What he said in /party didn’t go through (and /guild) nor could he see it.

Whispers said he was offline, but he could whisper me.

He still showed in party to me, although I didn’t see him in the guild list.

Logging in/out fixed it, but then it happened to me a minute later.

This happend to me too.
I cant whisper to certain people… or invite them to party.
This is frustraiting…

And my guild dissapeared. I thought I left guild by mistake. But it turned out to be a bug.

Did this issue get resolved overnight? I’m assuming/hoping so since I don’t see any more posts on the matter…

Restarting your client fixed all the problems introduced with the Dye fixing patch. It was some client tosever miscommunication.

Actually, I restarted the client several times last night, and after a few minutes I would have the bug again. However, I’m hopeful since I don’t see any more reports of it that it has since resolved itself…

I am seeing “You are not in a guild” every time I chat in a guild in which I am representing. None of the advertised “workarounds” fix the problem for longer than maybe 30-60 minutes of play.

That’s what was happening last night. Not good if it’s still happening…:(

Well, it was fixed for me last night, hopefully just a transient bug.

This bugs still happening to me NOW 2013 January!!!!

This bug is still happening to me, really annoying and sometimes my e-mail display in guild tab rather than my display name. /party /guild /whisper are all broken.
