Guild was attempting Half Baked Komali bounty in Mt Maelstrom. We knew how.. technical of a fight is was so we sent people who had done the fight before. Upon the first fire shield I dropped null field and myself and another mesmer would spam temporal curtain/into the void to remove stacks of defiant and our ranger would use his knockback, but the shield would not break. Stability, might and defiant all went back up. Tried this about 3-4 times with ItV and whatever Ranger skills he had, shield never broke.

Had a friend encounter the exact same bug. I’ll have him post his video of it when i see him. But to summarize it komali’s shield is not being removed on knockback even when no one is attacking.

My guild have the same problem, we just failed 3 time to komali, then came back agian with the good strategy for kill, no attack, remove boon, knockback with the engeener flammethrower ( for no damage ), but his shield never get removed…

Same, unable to remove the fire shield and ran out of time. Also had a random person jump in and they wouldn’t stop attacking with caused us to fail a few times. Horrible encounter overall or it’s bugged.

Komali’s fire shield either breaks or is broken.

No ground based effect visible on the shield nor do buff stripping/corrupting, fearing, or knockbacks work to remove the shield.

We knocked Komali back almost clear across the valley, and that fire shield was still cheerfully active.

I was tempted to post the same thing but just never got around to it thinking it was maybe something we did wrong. It was the first bounty we’ve ever failed and we’ve taken down Komali before the updated behavior.

Boon stripping and playing golf with him around the area didn’t take the shield off. 6 minutes and 40% health to go he runs away.

Is it broken? We just did it and unable to remove the shield.

Same problem. Had everyone sit and do nothing once all stacks of defiant were removed. A mesmer pulled him with curtain. He flew across the area, but just regained his stacks of defiance. He never gained might stacks throughout the fight.
