So, the harpy event ‘’Defend the skritt thieves while they steal harpy eggs’’ is bugged out. I’m on Fort Aspenwood, not quite sure if that matters anymore though because of the megaserver. Haven’t seen any other post about it, delete it if there is one.

This sometimes stopped working before the megaserver update. I think it might be possible to get to function correctly again by letting it fail — but since mega server, a lot of people pass through on the way to other things, so that’s easier said than done.

This event has been broken for… gosh, I don’t even know. Probably a year or more, because I remember it being bugged the very first time I ever went through the zone. Far as I can tell, the bug seems to be that the final veteran encounter at the very end just up and disappears partway through the fight and never comes back. I think disappearing is actually intended, but the never coming back part is obviously a problem because it means the event gets stuck permanently.

I’ve done it several times in the past year, prior to mega server, mostly when a guild event was taking place nearby and we were passing by.

So, while I agree it bugs out a lot, it works sometimes. Or at least, it did before megaserver rolled out.

You’re luckier than I’ve ever been, then. Not that I spend a ton of time in Harathi, but from memory I’ve encountered this quest maybe 5 times and its been stuck every single one of them.

Of course, I’m on TC, which is one of the most populated servers. So that could contribute to how often it shows up bugged, since it means more people in the zone at all times and less chance for it to reset. Which is probably also why its pretty much perpetually bugged with megaservers, the zone never clears out enough to reset completely.

I’ve been ’’lucky’’ enough to be able to reset the event around 5-6 times. What makes me sad though is that it doesn’t really matter, the event gets stuck once you killed the veteran anyway, no matter what i try…

I just tried the event and it’s still bugged. Tried killing the thieves by bringing multiple harpies to them, but, inevitably, as soon as I had the last one just about to die, someone would run up and rez them — even with multiple requests via /say and /mapchat to just let it fail so it could reset. Unfortunately, though, reading comprehension isn’t for everyone. They rezzed each one every time and then stood there wondering why it wouldn’t progress. :-/ SoI guess I’ll have to try my luck at waiting for it to reset or to get off this God awful megaserver shard and into one where the event isn’t hopefully broken. /sigh

EDIT: Just got it to reset after getting the thieves to die and even after letting them kill the Matriarch, like you’re supposed to, Hitkiti, the merchant, never spawned a “store.” So the event is just broken. :-(
