Hearts and Minds - Mordremoth Unvulnerable
If the rift doesn’t make him vulnerable, you can still finish the instance, you just need to make sure you have enough CC to break the bar yourself.
There is NOTHING I do that breaks him down, not even by 1%.
Are you saying you can’t do 1% damage, or that you can’t move the blue break bar 1%?
You’re not supposed to be able to do any damage until the blue bar is cleared, and it’s a known bug that the rift sometimes doesn’t break him, but not being able to move the blue bar sounds like something new.
It does not lose health. Nothing. No damage. Read the convo we had on the screenshot. He is immune to all attacks. He is WEAKENED.
Weakened is an effect applied to Canach, Blighted Canach, Blighted Eir Stegalkin and Blighted Pale Tree during Hearts and Minds.
There is nothing anyone can do to change this, he is invincible, players just run around shooting / striking / fighting him but he does not lose any health whatsoever. Hope this makes more sense.
PS Weakened: Invulnerable to all but Rift Overcharge.
I think you’re misunderstanding what I’m saying. I ran this instance last night and had the same problem, where the rift didn’t make him vulnerable, and he had the buff you described, but we managed to finish it anyway.
You’re only able to damage him after you remove his break bar – the blue bar below his health bar. Use skills with CC (dazes, stuns, etc) until the blue bar is gone, and then you should be able to damage him for a while.

In the screenshot it looks like people are standing on unreachable spots. That can also trigger mobs to go invulnerable although that is usually only against the unreachable person.
Thanks Stitch, will try that.
Khisanth, that’s where players stay that have died, only able to re-try once everyone dies.
Right, just completed it, no bug, but the difference is, we had Braham and Caithe with us. Could be the trick, I can’t say for sure, it should work with any two of the three NPCs to help, but this time there was no bug. Thanks though for the advice and assistance.
i’ve been having this issue modremoth becomes invulnerable and physicaly cant be damaged and the rift is not there, i cant touch his break bar even with my fears and chills and my flesh golems charge, i’ve been trying to complete the instance for 3 days now… this bug is known and has been in game since Heart of thorns launched, they seriously need to patch it
I ran this last night with a couple of guildies. And yes the same thing did occur, where Modremoth became invulnerable. However, I noticed he had an active break bar, and when I used a Crowd Control skill on it, it fluctuated. So I told the guildies to take down the break bar, and when it was gone, THEN we could start damaging him. The fight progressed normally after that. If he goes invulnerable, and nothing seams to continue, try taking out the break bar.
I do know if you do not have enough CC, or enough players with CC, if that break bar stays up, you may be unable to progress.

Normally you would use the rift to break the bar but it is like some of the posts mentioned it is apparently immune to CC skills as well.
One other important thing to know is that during that section (barring other bugs …) it is possible to get out of combat so even if you don’t have any CCs when you start the fight it is still possible to swap utilities. An elementalist can easily break the bar with tornado and a mesmer has signet of humility.

i did try it again and my flesh golems charge was able to affect his CC bar but nothing else i did was, my friend who is an engineer couldnt either, as i said the issue has been ingame since the launch of the expansion and nothing has been done about it that i know… it made me quit for 6 months at the beginning of heart of thorns launch and i was getting ready to quit again, fortunately i found a trick that works the majority of the time, if there are 2 or more ppl on the field when the first rift is there… if both hit the rift at the same time it will break his bar, the 2nd time the rift comes it will possiblybug again… repeat with 2 people, it should work again… then it wont bug from then on

That sounds like it is is behaving normally. The bar scales with the number of people so they all have to use the rift.
