I dont know where to post this topic as im new to this game. So my issue is.. At the creation panel of my character.. i didnt know tht choosing no helm would affect the game storyline.. i thought it was jst story and during the story i can choose to whether or not to wear a helm.. can someone help me on that? i want to wear a helm on my guardian..

Those options are only cosmetic, and even then, only effect the items you start out with. It does unlock the associated skins in the wardrobe, but it has no effect on your ability to equip another helm/shoulder armor.

You can choose to show your helm in the hero panel. Press H, go to the first tab (top one on the left – Equipment), then select Equipment again in the categories there. Make sure the checkbox on your helm slot (the top item slot to the left of your character) is checked. If you’re still very low level, you might not have a helm yet from rewards/loot drops.

Also, I believe that helms are always hidden during story cutscenes/conversations.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. It made it easier to understand the game now. However, i still cant wear the helm. What level do you need before you can actually start wearing them? im only lvl 10. When i right click on the helm to use it, it says “You cannot use this item”.

Do you have a heavy helmet that matches your level? You should be able to equip a helmet, but only if your class can wear it and it’s not above your level, so you might need to check the helmet you’re trying to equip.
Alternately, go to hero panel → equipment and right-click your helmet slot to see if you even have a helmet you can equip.

Your guardian will be able to wear any heavy armor helm that you meet the level requirement for. Any that you can’t equip would have to be too high level or of another armor type (light or medium).

Any currently compatible helms in your inventory will be shown in the Hero > Equipment panel. If you select the helm item slot, the item list to the left will show any helms you have in your bags.

I do not see the check box on the helm section under the hero equipment tab. I see for others such as shoulders and so on but not for helm.
I chose Fanatic’s Pauldron as part of my storyline. Do that affect my guardian for not being able to wear any helm?

No, it doesn’t. No matter your story choice, you can always wear helmets and shoulders – an entire armour set. You don’t restrict yourself to only wearing shoulders by picking shoulders in character creation.

It seems like you simply don’t have a suitable helmet in your inventory. You can always go buy one, though; white helmets are a few copper at the most for your level and available pretty much everywhere from armour vendors.

No you can’t get a helm yet. The poster above my post is incorrect. If you would have chosen a helm then you wouldn’t be able to get shoulder gear yet. I am unsure of the level that you get it but it’s definitly after level 10. I’m thinking it’s closer to 15 or 20, then there will be helms you can buy for your level. But there are no low level helms or shoulders unless you would have the delux edition which come with a chest on creation. When you hit the level it unlocks those slots for, the game will let you know on your level up reward.

Say what now? oO Since when? I can’t find anything on the wiki on this, and I don’t remember noticing this restriction before. I’m confused now.

Never mind. I just remembered. Still, why does OP seem to have a helmet in their inventory already?

He probably bought one that is above his level so that’s why it says he can’t wear it when he clicks it and tried to equip it.

I think the earliest crafted ones are at 15, but you can definitely get a helm at 10 from the trade post or drops.

In any case, it’s not anything to be concerned about. You’ll be able to use any appropriate helm once you acquire one.

I don’t know the specific rewards, but you’ll likely get one soon from either story or leveling rewards.
