My game keeps crashing every time something pops on my screen(achievements, finished events, vistas, points of interest, etc). The screen freezes and the music keeps playing. I have to press Control+Alt+Delete just to close the game. I did notice that the Memory is around 1,500,000K, no clue if that’s normal or I have serious memory leak.

Asking around in-game and looking online I decided to turn my graphics to the lowest settings possible, installed the 64 bit client, restored my client twice and nothing changes. I only experience this in the new HoT zones, everywhere else runs perfectly.

What am I to do?

Nothing you can do until anet get around to doing something to fix the issue your in the same boat as the rest of us.

We ether wait and see if anet can fix it or demand a refund for selling a faulty product.

Has this been an issue since launch or when they patched the game this Tuesday? I read that the patches have made the issue worse over time.

I’m also getting crashes since the shatterer update, its so annoying

I just started playing HoT today and I’m experiencing the same problem. The client has crashed a few times already.

I’m experiencing the same issue. Only in HoT zones and only when I unlock an achievement or a new point of interest. I am able to bring up task manager but I can’t seem to close GW2 at all. I have to completely shut my computer off and turn it back on to get out of the freeze. This issue literally started when I got into the HoT areas.

Same problem for my HoT big freeze and music still running when i got a lvl in the area of HoT, problem same as my pc on Intel/Nvidea or my other on AMD can’t play in HoT.

Maybe seeing an almost empty zone in the game will make them want to fix this. It’s hard to do group quests with 3 people.

Same problem freezing at Hot map. ArenaNet can atleast make a post or something to let us know they are working on it and are aware of the problem.

I’m having the same issue. It’s not even necessarily a memory leak for me. I will be questing in HoT content (only in the intro jungle area trying to gain access to gliding) and out of now where my screen will freeze. The game doesn’t crash or give any kind of error and it prevents me from even opening my task manager. It happened three consecutive times yesterday and now once this morning. Between that time I went and quested in the rest of the world and didn’t experience any freezes or crashing.

Computer specs:
Nvidia GTX 980
i7-4790k CPU @ 4.00GHz
16gb ram

I run the rest of the game at max settings with no issue. I set my graphics to min with no special effects when I was in the HoT zone and it still froze.

It happens to me too.. Each time I discover a new waypoint, POI or I complete an event.
To close the game I have to go through the command line, task manager won’t work

Same as me. Tried everything, from drivers to testing my graphics and CPU for stability, reinstall the game few times with 32 and 64 bits client, no change. When i discover something new, achievement done or event completed, boom! Screen frozen forever… Just bought expansion and this is happening. Not happy

It’s been a few days now, is there any response from ArenaNet or possible link to a certain hardware compatibility issue or anything? I paid a lot of money for this and I can’t even play it…

I am having the same issues as above but its not just limited to HoT maps as I am also getting the crashes in WvW.

I have taken a break until this is fixed because the crashes are regular and it’s impossible to play in its current state.
