i just bought the digital GW2 and am downloading the client ..
ive reached 1.3gb and its still on 1% … is this a bug in the client downloader ?

The percentage is always based on the remaining files at the beginning.
For example you download 90% and close the installer.
If you start the installer again it will only download the last remaining 10% but will base the percentage on those 10% and so start with 1%.
The game is about 19.9 GB.

Nope you need the whole game installed to play
