Just thought this might be relevant as people are surprised sometimes when I call out bot in map chat.
This is some of the things I have observed:
Bots are designed to do repetitious tasks over and over and (obviously) aren’t human controlled.
With that in mind you observe them attacking using the same moves, follow the the same movements and almost be ‘robot’ like in nature. Typically ranged toon, Rangers with bears have become the most popular toon to use. I’ve also seen ranged warriors too.
What I’ve noticed too is that many bots are ‘grouped’ together following the same patterns. I guess because multi-accounts/friends/guilds/organisations are sharing code once a successful bot code has been created. They are becoming more and more elaborate with some bots traversing 1/4 of the map.
If you see what you suspect is a bot, click on the toon to highlight them. Once highlighted right click on name>report>botting. That’s it., then the rest is up to ArenaNet.
Hope this helps some people eliminate the bots in the game. If people have other tell signs please post below. Let’s keep this thread current as I think it’s something everyone could find useful at some time or another.
A warrior, a guardian, and an elementalist walk into an open field…
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
