Although this isn’t a huge problem since I’m not really planning on finishing this achievement anytime soon, it still has been bogging me.

First of all I want to say that that I’m aware of how this achievement works. I know that you need to purchase a set (helm, shoulders, chest…) from each tier.

I have bought a full set of the commander’s armor (6 skins), shoulders and gloves from the avenger’s set (2 skins), and everything from the protector’s set except the helmet (5 skins).

This should give me the total of 13 skins yet still the “Human Specialty Armors” achievement only shows the progression of 12/18.

Any idea what could have caused this?

Just spitballing – Are you sure that you bought them? The wiki has this warning: “Cultural armor skins unlocked through the personal story or the removed PvP reward system do not progress the achievements.” Are you sure you bought all the pieces, and didn’t just unlock the skin of one of them through the old PvP wardrobe system? I imaging you verified that all the pieces you expect to have unlocked show up in your wardrobe.

Did you BUY the tier one helm, or did you get it from the level 20 Personal Story Reward? Most likely, you got it from the Personal Story reward. Go buy the helm from the vendor, and you should then have 13/18.

It’s a really annoying quirk of the system. The “specialty” armor requirement says, “soulbind 18 unique pieces of ____ cultural armor;” the game, however, requires you to purchase each.

Yeah. The game would greatly benefit from some more specific item/achievement descriptions.

To clarify, it’s chest armor, not helms, that you get from PS.

Doh, sorry. Yeah, I meant the chest. Chest, not helm.

Alright, it was the chest piece which I have indeed gotten from the personal story.

I just bought it from the merchant and the achievement moved to 13/18.
