Guild Wars 2

So we went to the laughing gull island and killed the risen captain with the two NPCs as described in http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Campaign_Against_Taidha_Covington

The event is ensured to begin once the NPCs Bill Kinsey, Hekja Ravensbeak, and Lionscout Jenny have left the island. They will be seen swimming away after the aforementioned group event, to return with the Lion’s Arch Galleon.

The two npcs left as described, but 30 minutes later they are still nowhere to be seen and the event is not progressing.

Has anyone been experiencing this as well? Trying to go for the Hydra Queen achievement!

Did the event twice again today, but they never swam off the island. Has anyone tried to do this event yet?

There are 3 npc’s that need to leave the island, that includes Lionscout Jenny. (The merchant without stuff).

Just keep doing the Risen champ event until they (all 3) leave the island.

That achievement is the one that seems buggy. I did it with my party, but I was the only one who got the achievement. The only difference between me and the party was that I was alive at the end, so make sure you aren’t defeated when she finally dies.
As for getting her to spawn in the first place, yeah, we just did the risen champion event until the event popped up. I think the lionguard charr even says something along the lines of “When we aren’t dealing with the risen, we’re dealing with the Hydra Queen”.

Did it again today, killed the captain twice, after the second time Bill Kinsey and Hekja Ravensbeak left the island. We stuck around and someone wikid that we should find and rez Lionscout Jenny, so we did, and waited another 30 min, and nothing happened.

Come on!!

We did this one two days ago. Killed the captain 4 times. Wanted to quit. Somebody said “no…lets do it one last time!” We did. Glad so!
One person was guarding Jenny the whole time. About 5 min. after the captain died Jenny started walking away to the ocean! We saved her kitten untill she swam away with Bill and Hekja. And then the event chain started. Took a couple of minutes between each of them. Leading up to the Hydra Queen. Unfortunatly just 2 of our group got the achievement! So we’ll have to do it a couple of more times I guess.

The suggestion here is:
1) Be patient
2) Try killing the captain over and over
3) Keep one person guarding Jenny the Lionsguard. We don’t know if it helps. But she needs to be alive to swim away :P

Thank god the pirates and risen there drop a lot of bags/crafting materials. So it’s not that painfull to spend 2 hours on that island

Took us 5 times killing the Captain and rezzing/guarding Jenny. She seems to be the main glitchy one. Keeping her alive is probably best, but if you cannot then rez her fast enough so she is not far behind the other two in leaving the island.

Wanted to bump that topic.

It’s been days now that I want to do this achievement, but the world event seems to be stuck (Jade Sea server).

There is no risen on the island and the information on the meta-event states “the lionguard is ready to attack the island”, but nothing happens at all. I’ve searched on the whole island and I wasn’t able to find any of the mentionned NPC.

Yeah same here. I’ve got two characters stationed on either side of the island. None of the three NPC’s are present, the Risen event hasn’t come up and I’ve been sitting here for almost three hours.
Are we ever going to see this event active?

Yeah, hopefully this gets fixed. Today while playing this zone/map my game DCed 3 times. Every other zone/map was fine. I explored all over the map with no luck of starting this event.

This meta-event is sloppily designed and I hope they’re looking at fixing it in the near future, either by making the Covington Captain slightly more managable or actually repairing the event so it works without having to worry about some random vendor.
