I can't buy/unlock gates of maguuma story

Log out then log back in.

Tried this 4-5 times, changed dns/network settings then flushed caches but none of them worked.

shouldn’t need to buy it. if you log in when the espisode is live you get it free,
I don’t know why you’re trying to buy it though. I thought it was automatically unlocked if you log in while its active, and that you only have to buy it if you missed it completely.
Clear out the TEMP files for GW2 by going to % Temp % (without spaces) and deleting gw2cache
Also make sure your firewall is turned off for 10 minutes or so.

Yes, all of my characters are l80.

Thanks, but this didn’t work too. I’ve deleted gw2cache…. folder completely.
Same for me, exactly the same problem. Other guildies don’t even get this screen, they have a “play” button instead.

According to the devs, this situation appears to be arising when a player has a full internal “queue.” To solve this, they recommend that you clear your Trading Post pickup tab and that should (may?) solve the issue.
It takes a lot to fill up the internal queue, so I’m not sure that this will solve the problem for everyone, but would you kindly try the above and let us know if that resolved the issue for you?

It takes a lot to fill up the internal queue, so I’m not sure that this will solve the problem for everyone, but would you kindly try the above and let us know if that resolved the issue for you?

Thanks, this has solved my problem. I’m using trading post very heavily for trading items and I had a good amount of ordered&bought items waiting in queue to pick up. When I picked some of them up, I received the unlock dialog of “gates of maguuma”.

Yes, that worked for me, too. I usually have several screens full of orders waiting for me that I salvage for luck.
After I picked up items, a large green star showed up at the right edge of the screen, indicating that the episode was now available. It’s now unlocked in my journal. I still haven’t received any mail about it.

Chiming in to say that, yeah, it worked! I found it by accident while salvaging a backlog of items from the TP, and thought that support had rectified my situation personally or something. Happy that it all worked out just fine without any assistance!

Without any TP queue problem, I didn’t receive the mail at first either. I had to change zone for it to appear.

Some friends of mine can’t get the Story to start they emptied their mailboxes emptied the TP but still no mail.
I has the bug untill i emptied my TP. I went to personal story and bought the LS 2 with 0 gemme to activate it
I’m not able to empty my TP-Queue, cause i have rly much items in there
Would need ~40+ bank-chars to empty it, what can i do to get this problem solved? Will I never be able to play with my friends now, unless I empty my TP?

I’m guessing you will need to salvage/sell/otherwise use the items you have waiting to be picked up. I’m pretty sure the TP wasn’t meant to be an extra storage area.
Storage or Living Story content….the choice is yours.

That the living story doesnt start for me is a bug, the buy-with-gems thing is just a workaround
What I put in my TP and why has nothing to fo with that

Why can’t you just empty your TP? Take some items out. Salvage them or whatever it is you do with them. Take out more. Salvage/whatever. Keep going until you can unlock it.
That would be a huge loss, like 1000g+
I have more than 1.000.000 Materials in my TP, i simply cant just take them out

I don’t think anyone is blaming you or saying this is your fault. But if you know the current workaround and refuse to do it, then that’s your issue (until they can get a fix in).
I have the same problem but i have no mail or anything in the Trading Post to pick up, i just get a network error when i try to buy it for 0. Tried logging in and out. It is locked as it has the padlock on it on the right over the chest and on the left next to the name.

You need to go to your story journal, select the tab for the Living World Season 2, and then select “Play Now” in order to switch to it on those other characters.
Yes, you can play Living Story without having finished Personal Story. Try reading the letter you received on your alternate characters. That should start Episode One for each. That’s how it works for me, anyway. (It doesn’t need to be a new letter, the old one will do.)

I’m a little clueless sometimes and it took me a while to figure out that you all meant the Story Journal icon (eight pointed compass-like star) on the left border of the Hero panel.

I assume it was because of my account rollback because of hacking, rather annoying because now I have to spend 200 gems, and it still isn’t letting me unlock it.

I doubt you will have to spend the 200 Gems. It seems to be a common bug with those that have had Account Restorations. I’m sure once CS gets it all figured out, they would unlock it for you, as well, since you have documentation that you were in-game during the Release window.

I just opened a ticket, but i wanted some opinions on this: I cant purchse gates of maguuma. Tried clearing the tp, relog, repair game client and even deleting my mail. Didnt work. Which is really weird, cause the other two episodes i could unlock no problem at all (after i got the third for free, i tried bying the first, gates of maguuma, which didnt work, so i bought the second, which DID work).
Now, here is the thing: I had my account restored after a hack, and in an email the support said, that items on sale on the tp might not be able to be recovered. So, is there any chance that these items still clogg my internal queue?
