So I was questing earlier on my L70 Guardian in Quandry Scratch (skritt area) in Northern Mount Malestrom and was killing a mob related to the event ‘Kick the Nightmare Court off Quandry Scratch’. By coincidence (nor not) I was downed EXACTLY as I killed it so, basically, I was downed and at the same time wasn’t aggroed by any mob. I managed to rally using healing skills and continued on questing, disregarding what had just happened.

Then I was doing the same event at the same place about a minute later when I was overwhelmed and, naturally, I aggroed the mob with the lowest health. The strangest thing was, when I killed it, I did not rally. So I died because of that.

I recounted this to my guild and one of the guild’s members went to try it out at a different place, but he told me everything was completely normal.

Signed, Lord Daguthir of Divinity’s Reach.
To all those who were foolish enough to view my post. NOW YOU SHALL BOW BEFORE ME!

You can only rally on experience, stacks, loot awarding mobs. Not on, say, objects like Nightmare mortars… OR certain summoned mobs. For example, risen kraits summon risen mobs, that grant no exp, stack or loot, and die on their own if the risen krait is killed. Certain events spawn mobs like this too. To avoid farming exploits (or whatever reason), these mobs don’t count as real mobs.
You most likely tried to rally on one of those.
