But now I can’t level my craft because I can’t get materials like Vials of Thin Blood or Small Scales because the only thing that drops is butter and eggs! This is ridiculous.

Butter and eggs havent dropped for me. I only got those from the mining/item bags that drop from mobs.

Anything that used to drop VIals of Thin blood…for example Skales and Drakes frop nothing but eggs. And those bags are what I used to rely on for my small fine crafting materials and they ONLY contain butter now…oh and chocolate.

why not use the trading post to but your needed materials, you could sell what you farmed and use the money to buy the correct materials.

Because butter is worth 2 copper and what I need is around 2 silver…

I’ve gotten a couple of VoTB still, but lots of butter and eggs… maybe we need to eat more omlettes?

You can get Leather by recycling medium armor pieces and the special materials still drop from appropiate mobs.

Fine Crafting Materials

This is rather annoying. Leatherworking (and similar professions) are hard enough to level as it is because of the scarcity of fine crafting materials.

I mean, it’s obvious looking at the TP; Tier 1-2 crafting mats shouldn’t be going for 1-1.5 silver at those levels.

Well, I completely agree – I have actually been farming bandits like silly (even before the butter-change) just to try and get the jute I needed to level my tailor.
For the other crafting professions I have tried so far (apart from leatherworker) it appears that I am rather quickly able to craft items I cannot actually use due to level restrictions. For tailor it seems to be tough to craft items that are even remotely useful at the level I am…
Jute scraps have been at around 25 copper without the butter-drops from bags. After the ‘butter-change’ I now get about 25 butter vs. 3 scraps of jute from the bags (before it was about 10-12 jute scraps from the same amount of bags). Add to that the scarcity of the necessary additional items (blood, venom etc.) making the levelling process even worse.
Please, make tailor and leatherworker viable professions and increase jute drop rate or add a plant you can gather it from maybe… it’s just jute after all (though my guess is that wool is going to turn into a similar problem)

I have the same problem, the drops seem bugged.

While I realise that butter and chocolate have been added to the loot table for the bags as a replacement for vendors they should not be dropping as often as they do.

I get the feeling adding these additions might also have been put in place as a nerf to farming humanoids.

Just wanted to say that I’ve experienced the same thing today. I’ve collected ~150 butter from supply bags and at most 5-8 of the various fine materials. This is ridiculous!

I just checked the trade post. There’s nearly 300 000 sticks of butter up for sale. At 3c each.

I AM a cook and the butter drops seem out of control. I get a lot of chocolate, too, but butter in particular seems crazy. I know it needs to be fairly common since it’s used in a lot of recipes, but holy mole, lol.
