I'm Not Getting Karma Anymore?
Karma can only be received by participating in events: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Karma
However, sometimes if you help another person in his/ her storyline you can also gain some karma… https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/No-karma-for-helping-with-personal-story/first#post402837
So it’s absolutely normal that you did not get karma for completing a quest/ heart.
So what’s the point of completing the Heart quests?
I thought you got (good) karma from helping villagers with those.
I could have sworn I got Karma from doing them before now.
In fact, I just did one and got karma for it so now I am really confused.
They give you experience, a bit of coin and are required for map completion (which has its own set of rewards). In some cases, there’s a bit of overlap between events and heart quests.
The reward for completing a zone (doing all vista, points of interests, heart quest..) is quite good. Especially in the higher areas.
And if you do such a quest you unlock the karma reward you can buy from this npc. Sometimes they have useful things (karma armor, crafting material…)
And third you help these poor villagers.. :-D
Oh, and not to forget that you are rewarded with ingame money.. if you do not complete these quests, you will skip a lot of money. ^^
Anet changed the karma receiving options (in september?) to that system that you can only get karma at dynamic events.. before there were some more possibilities, maybe you indeed received karma for heart quests before..
ah I see.
Thanks for clearing it up.
It must have been the overlap.
I get it now, still figuring this game out.
