I was just rolled back and lost a Cat Neck..
You would have to contact the CS Team, as they are the only one with logs. Top/Bottom of Page – Support – Submit a Request
Good luck.
Alright. Thanks, i’ll do that.
But It just seems extremely fishy. Being rolled back as soon as getting the first good item in a long time. I’ve never even heard of isolated roll backs from disconnect before.
Might be an odd bug. If so, there may be no log of the item.
No conspiracy, just a coincidence.
Again, good luck.

I’ve been rolled back by a minute or two by a DC at least once. I had a black lion ticket and had just bought a weapon skin when I DC’d. When I came back, neither the ticket nor the weapon was in my inventory. I checked my bank and my ticket was back in there. So it’s rare, but possible. Probably the game loses the most recent information on the account and picks back up at the last known point.
ANet may give it to you.
I know this is completely off topic, and I hope you get that sorted out OP.
But tonight in the states we roll back our clocks an hour. How does this effect like world boss timers? Does the server rollback in hour?

They keep to the same schedule with the same sequence and amount of time between events. It’s our time that changes around them.
For example, the daily reset is going to be an hour earlier for us but still 24 hours after the last reset. The Teq that’s at reset will be an hour earlier for us, but 24 hours since the last Teq at reset. So, at time change there will be boss A starting at 2AM. Then our clock roles back and the next boss after boss A is boss B at 1:15AM
ANet may give it to you.

Did you use any macros to open the bags? Like if there wasn’t a server rollback I can only guess your inventory was rolled back automatically (I guess they could do that if they want) perhaps of they detected some sort of strange behavior on your clients end?
No, but I did ASK if using macros was legal for opening bags since my hand was hurting at that point lol…
Perhaps a GM got trigger happy?
It seems my account had a roll back too. i don’t think i lost anything, i noticed because i did my bloodstone/dragonite ore/fragments eating thing, but i was looking through my storage and its all back.

hype over.
If you used a macro to speedily open bags, it might not have been a roll-back, but just a regular DC.
Say for example, you were lagging/starting to disconnect whilst opening your bags, but only actually got kicked out of the game after a period of time had elapsed and the client realised you were no longer “speaking” to the servers.
I’ve actually seen this happen before- my boyfriend went to WvW to grab a BL chest to use his BL key. He got nothing really worthwhile (like a transmutation charge, a booster and a jug of influence) out of the chest and POP we both dc’d. He logged back in, found his key still sitting in his inventory and opened another chest… and he got two BL claim ticket scraps and something else I can’t remember.
Lucky for him, the disconnect worked in his favour. Not a tech-wizz, but this kind of dc is quite rare because the game usually kicks you out very shortly after realising you’ve lost connection.
But if this is the case with you, there’s probably very little CS can do. If your client had stopped interacting with the server by the time you got your refractor, there’s not any proof that you actually got it. I suppose if you were lucky enough to grab a screenshot of your inventory/game chat log, then there might be a better chance.

A regular disconnect is unlikely. If he got to see what was coming out of bags, that means one of three things:
– The server had told his client what was in the bag. I’d expect the server to update what is saved server-side at the same time it tells the client about it.
– The RNG of bag opening is happening client side. Which would be really stupid as any code running client-side can be easily hacked to do things ANET doesn’t want it to.
– The client and server have synced their RNG seed so that they both get identical results. The client processed the bag opening without telling the server somehow. It realized that it was a complete DC, closed itself. Relaunching then got it to load the servers copy of the inventory. This is technically possible to do, but it would take a lot of effort for ANET to pull off. I can’t see a single reason why they would want to put in the effort and sending the RNG client side would allow people to use it to predict what would pop out of a bag before opening it. They might not be able to change it, but knowing if the contents of the next bag you open are less than the value of the unopened bag is still useful information.
Every disconnect I’ve had recently (that I can recall, maybe 5 of them) has rolled me back a short time. The majority of these happened when I switched from Mad King’s Labyrinth to Lion’s Arch, and when I dc’d 15-30ish seconds after loading into Lion’s Arch I logged back into the Labyrinth.
I didn’t think anything of a rollback until, like the OP, I was opening ToT bags. I disconnected and came back to find that the last 150ish I opened were now unopened and I didn’t have the Nightwing I had just found (not a big deal unlike the OP’s necklace, so I didn’t bother to submit any ticket or post).
It has happened to me twice when opening bags and both times I seem to recall just prior I had been running between a bank (either LA bank or Crafting station bank) to the Halloween vendors while opening bags. Also had a full inventory at most times, only depositing, discarding or using items when I’d get the popup showing an item that cannot fit. No macros, no mouse wheel click, no nothing when opening. Just left mouse click-click-click-click.
I got DC’d the other day, and it rolled me back maybe five minutes, most of which were spent map traveling, running to a waypoint, and killing a few Risen/looting.
It’s extremely rare for that to happen, rare enough that I can’t remember any other occasions of it, but it stinks that it would happen to you when you got a necklace drop. Ouch.
Always relog if you finished a hard achievement (switching maps counts too I think) or found something good. If you do not your data is only saved every few minutes into the server database and if something bad happens you experience these small rollbacks.
Alright. Thanks, i’ll do that.

What is strange is that you think someone at Anet is paying that close attention to what a single player is doing. Unless you were doing something wrong…
Okay so I wasn’t the only one. I’ll remember to wait a while after leaving MKLab to open tons of bags. Possibly move to a quiet map and relog too.
