Q:
Inability to mail not-bound items
As far as I’m aware, upgrading an item with rune/sigil/etc, will make the item soulbound to your character (even though this does not update the item description or warn you). It’s been known for a while and there’s quite a few threads about it, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s a bug or working as intended.
From now on, if you do this, just send both items separately. the item you have right now however, you’re probably stuck with.
Edit: I just read a post that says it warns you when you do this, but I can’t confirm if that’s true or not.

If you right click the item and select “Mail item to…” does that work?

Unfortunately the voice “mail item to…” does not appear.
In fact I’m noticing that this happens with two other items I purchased and never equipped.
I tested adding a rune to a random soulbound-on-use item to check if it warns or not. Are you sure you didn’t ignore a warning that came up, that said the item would be soulbound if you continued?
Seems clear that it’s working as intended now:

I never noticed it and of course it’s my fault for not knowing it.
Now I have three piece of armors I will never use.
I guess this threads should convert to a simple Bug Report about the soulbound identifier.
Try adding a blue level upgrade to the armor or weapon, I don’t believe you get that warning dialogue.
Yes, when you upgrade the item it should change the status to soulbound. So the fact that it didn’t is an issue We’ll look in to that!

Even adding blue level gems will warn you about it (I just checked).

I will pay more attention in the future, thanks.
Oh my, this bug has been reported over 50 times in the last two months alone…
Still good to see, that it is finally being looked in. While at it, please check also other combinations of item attributes, where only one of them is shown but the wrong (more restrictive) one is hidden.

It makes them Account Bound but still display as Soulbound on Use.
Still happening. I guess my screen at the time was so crowded that I did not notice the warning about the item being soulbound BUT the tag on the armor I upgraded for a friend still said soulbound on use. Please at least update the item’s status to soulbound because I went nuts trying to mail this to him.
I will of course not upgrade an item for a friend again like this, I’ve learned my lesson but meh, I wonder why upgrading makes it soulbound? Does not seem to make sense and i felt that my good deed for a friend who gets to play less than I do was sternly punished.
