As you can see from the screenshot the Hero panel shows the infusion and +5 agony resistance from one of the rings I am hovering over with my mouse. However, the description in the chat box when I ping does not show it. Everyone else I play dungeons and fractals with where we have to ping our gear to ensure we qualify for higher level play shows the infusion in the description. In other words, in the chat box my Red Ring of Death should say, “[Red Ring of Death(Infused)]” and it instead only shows, “[Reg Ring of Death]” as is shown in the attached screenshot.
This is kind of important in PUGs when you have to prove you have agony resistance for higher level fractals. Thanks ahead of time for the help.

If you infuse a ring, you’re technically creating a new ring, so you lose the infusion. You’ll have to buy a new one.

^That’s not what you have. You have a standard ring with an added infusion. Rings with the built in infusion are acquired by upgrading regular ones like yours through the forge, or getting them as drops in fractals >20

Thanks. That was very helpful. I am wondering then if I infuse it at the mystic forge will I use the infusion that I have in the slot?

Man that sucks. It’s a paradox then cuz you can’t can’t get the mats to make an infused ring until you get to the higher levels, yet you need agony resistance to stay alive there.

Honestly, at the point where you need more than 10 Agony Resistance from rings, 75 fractal relics are negligible. Evvery 6 higher, you get more fractal relics per run. At level 24, I think it is, you get 100 fractal relics per even run (daily gives some). You won’t lose any resistance by upgrading (5 to 5) and then by the next run, you should have enough relics to get another upgrade.

Also to note, pinging an Ascended ring will never show the upgrade you slot into it, so you’ll have no way of guaranteeing they have it, but as I mentioned, it’s so easy to get them, it’s almost an immeasurable chance.
