I am not sure if this is a bug or by design or limitation from apple but here goes:
My internet connection is not terribly fast so I have had my MBP downloading GW2 for a couple of days now. When it is running, the launcher is forcing the graphics mode to be in ‘high performance’ mode, this switches the discrete GFX card on and causes a very large amount of heat which I am pretty sure is unnecessary for downloading and installing… As far as i know there is no way for me to force this ‘high performance’ mode off, the only real thing I have managed to do to mitigate some of the heat output was to install a fan control app and set the fans to max.
Thoughts?
