Guild Wars 2

I’ve recently been noticing issues with the game suddenly having the framerate drop dramatically, from 30+ down to the low teens, at semi-random times. Just after it speeds up slightly as if ‘catching up’ for a split second. It also seems to be independent of what’s going on in the game: sometimes I’m in a crowded city running around; sometimes I’m in a heavy battle, sometimes I’m just idling while checking the Black Lion window or something.

I’ve seen other posts say it’s the GPU or CPU overheating, but both haven’t reached anywhere near dangerous levels and pumping up fans to keep them cooler did nothing.

Another (reddit) post said that turning the framerate limiter down to 30 (which is only around where I normally get if I’m not just staring at the floor) would do the trick. It helped! For a while, but after about 15 or 20 minutes, rather than under five, it started again.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Having the same issue, this is nearly my exact situation exactly. Anyone know what’s going on?
