Today these windows have turned nearly transparent when before the interior of the window had a dark back ground that offered contrast to the text or icons contained in them.
I did not deliberately change any setting and cannot find any setting to change them back.
I am running the 64 bit client.

I also posted on Reddit and got the following response
“This change was adopted a few patches ago. There is nothing (as far as I know) that you can do to revert this. "
I spoke to several of my guildmates while on teamspeak, and none of them experienced this change. I was wondering
1. if this affected only 64 bit clients
2. if this was an intended change? (if so why? I don’t like it )

Who said this change was adopted? A Dev?

I don’t have any such window(s). Have you tried a -repair of the client? A ‘Search’ of the KB via the ‘Support’ link above/below will garner instructions.

Good luck.

So I logged in today and the issue went away without me changing any settings. Much easier for me to see my inventory and read options menu. Thanks ANET for the fix

Actually it juts looks like a texture glitch, nothing changed and nothing got broke (then nothing was even fixed).

Sometimes I get that too, it usually occurs due the texture not being loaded (yet) and then after a few minutes it’s back and looking properly. I would suggest just waiting a few and it will come back on its own, but if it persists then you could repair the game as suggested previously because possibly the texture could be gotten broke.
