It surprises me that I’m the first to post about this. Three people I know personally have had the same issue.

The dungeon is Ascalonian catacombs and it’s after you’ve completed the story mode. We’ve tried to get into the same explorable instance and been segregated for no reason from the rest of our party. Then I decided to do the storymode a second time instead (with the idea that the explorable doesn’t work) but it would only give me the option to join explorable mode at this point. I encountered this error with the pop-up box first then the entrance to AC aswell.

Finally after relogging and reforming the party, I tried to get into explorable mode again and it formed 2 instances. 1 for the first 2 members and 1 for the last three. Many reforms and retries later it then randomly barred me from joining explorable at all. Both errors were experienced with the pop-up window and the entrance.

Story mode was a lot of fun though! That’s why I was eager to try something harder

Could not get my full group in the same AC story mode instance. We were getting separated, this has been around since beta and im not sure WHY this is still an issue. FIX IT!

I have not been on yet this morning, but last night Arah seemed to be constantly contested. We would clear out all of the undead but they would just respawn endlessly. This prevented a lot of people from completing their story quest. Other areas around Arah seemed like they were experiencing the same problem, such as the Anchorage waypoint.

How did you all attempt to join the instance? Did one person create the instance and did the rest receive a “join party in instance” dialog?

In the second party you joined, did they already have an instance open?

Today I was attempting AC exploreable with one guildie and 3 pugs. It went something like this:

Half an hour in, first person has to leave, I exit the dungeon and find a replacement. He’s not able to get into the same instance as us, so we all exit and rejoin. The dungeon has reset.

Right at the very final part of the final fight, two people (including guildie) rage quit. One of the remaining pugs and I leave to invite two new players, leaving one player in the instance of the dungeon where we had cleared. None of us are able to join him, despite many attempts. We give up.

3 hours later, massive repair bill, no decent drops, rage all round. Not doing dungeons again;

I can only assume that sado-masochism was in the Arena Net GW2 Manifesto.

I don’t understand why GW2 doesn’t have a dungeon tool or anything to help us form groups fast. removing the tank/healer/dps rules was too awesome that you didn’t think of providing any tool to help us do dungeons?

after those wasted hours I am not really in the mood to play anymore.

I read that forming a dungeon group would be faster in GW2, but it is taking the same time and sometimes more to form a group, and if someone leaves in the middle of the instance it’s a disaster.

-We tried both the pop-up dialogue and entering through the entrance both put us in a new instance.
-I’ve mentioned how many party members etc.

We have just played Caudecus’s Manor, explorable , the Seraph path, we reached the moment we have to rescue the sergeant, killed the elite, and nothing happened. No cutscene and no sergeant visible, cage is empty. So dead end.

You’d think that something as serious and game breaking as losing dungeon progress wouldn’t have made it live passed the beta weekends, I think it’s safe to assume that it’s a new bug that only made itself known after the live launch. Perhaps it was caused by the added load of so many players accessing their servers.

Nevertheless it’s a complete bloody joke, they ought to post a warning in game or something when you’re entering a dungeon advising you about the probability of lost progress.

I was in a group that had the same problem that Nosleepdemon and Riddler posted. I would guess that lots of people also have the problem.

Dungeon: Ascalonian Catacombs
Freezes when I try to walk into the entry point. The other person I was with got in fine but mine just goes to the loading screen and stops. Incidentally, this is the same character that had an issue with the story skipping. Not sure if it’s at all related? There were 2 people in my party (we mainly just wanted to see if we could get in) but it didn’t automatically invite me when he started the instance like it does with story instances.

Sorrow’s Embrace story mode, we reached the gate Zojja is supposed to unlock right before the battle with Kudu, no mobs there, entered, died once on the second (fire) golem and the mobs were there, constantly spawning and some of them even entering boss fight area while we are fighting him. Second dungeon bugged today, must be my lucky day…

Had this issue 2 hours ago in AC, and now as well. I was able to enter AC once (story mode), but when several members of the party said they could not enter, I exited. I could not get back in. I even logged out, and completely restarted the client. Didnt help. So I logged out for an hour or 2. Logged back in, and same thing happened. Went in once, got in. Left, cant get back in.

Edit: Its been about 11 minutes since I posted. Without logging out, I ran over to Caudecus’s Manor, to see if it would let me in at all, or if I would have the same issue. I was able to enter CM, exit, and reenter several times.

Currently having issues with all dungeons.

Attempting to enter an instance will sometimes work, but all members are in separate instances. Some members can enter, some members cannot. Leaving makes the character unable to zone back into the dungeon. Both the popup and walking into the entrance have the same results for all 5 members of the group. Reforming the group doesn’t help. Re-logging also has no effect.

My party had an issue getting into Twilight Arbor. I was able to enter the first time but non of my party members could follow, when I left the instance and attempted to go back in I was unable to.

Dungeon: Ascalonian Catacombs

Trying to do the story mode and couldn’t get in through the pop up message. Got in by walking up to the portal but the group all ended up in different instances.

Ascalonian Catacombs Story Mode. Got in one time, but rest of group had their own version of the dungeon. Left the dungeon and have since been unable to reenter. We reformed the group, same result; none of us can enter the instance. Pop up message doesn’t do anything, and walking up to the instance does nothing as well.

Tried to get into Ascalonian Catacombs Story Mode in a party of 3, 1st attempt we all got in but all in different instances. From then onwards as we tried to gain access to the dungeon, none of us could get in. Tried the pop-up box and at the entrance but clicking on button did nothing!!!

Info:

• I had completed Story Mode where as the other two members of party had not
• I was lvl 41, others were 34 and 31 respectivly (though this should not make difference)
• We were all in the same Guild
• It said that all of us were in the Ascalonian Catacombs, in actual fact we were all outside unable to get in

We want to get owned in the dungeon

Tried to get into Citadel of flame explorable
i was in a party of 5 and as usual i went in first. the others got the pop up allowing them into the dungeon but it didn’t work. they also tried entering the dungeon… still didn’t work. its been like this for hours and its happening to every one and every dungeon…
we are all level 80. we tried to fix it by all way pointing out and in. logging out and in and kicking individuals and re-inviting them back in nothing seems to of worked

Can you please resolve i want to get my level 80 gear, and I’m so close to getting the whole set!

Similar issue to many described here. Hit 30th level, and went to check out Ascalonian Catacombs. Walked in solo to see the cutscene, and then exited to round up a party. Got a group together, but then was unable to enter the dungeon again. Walking up to the dungeon portal and clicking on the Story Mode button just closed the box but didn’t let me re-enter. Leaving the party and trying to do it solo didn’t work either. Simply cannot enter the dungeon anymore.

Seems a lot of Dungeons are down and parties are not getting in together, some info and fix would be nice — thanks!

Yep i had the same problem. Both CM and AC cant get it via pop up or walking through portal/

Ok så:
Party: 2 people from Far Shiverpeaks, 3 from Underworld joining from Overflow server.
Initial issue:
Everyone get their own seperat instance, usually resolved by splitting the team and have one person entering the instance and then invite the rest while being inside the active instance, no result still got their own instance.
Second issue: walked out and couldn’t re-enter the instance, resolved by rebooting the client, allowed us to enter the instance again but still with the seperat instances.
Everyone tried both entering the instance manually and get in and then tried with the popup window and there were no significant difference betwen the attemptes.

Current instance: CM

Which dungeon: Sorrow’s Embrace
If you are joining through the pop-up dialogue or by walking up to the entry point: Tried both, both did not work
How many people in the party tried creating the instance: 5
Any other details you can provide: The only way I was able to enter was when I was alone.

Server: Crystal Desert –
Regions, Frostgorge Sound, Mount Maelstrom
Honor of the Waves dungeon as well as Crucible of Eternity in both not letting groups enter from instance entrance.

Server: Black Gate
Region: Cursed Shore, Ruins of Arah.

Same issue; 5 of us. 1 able to enter 4 not, tried repeated logging in and out, reloading client etc, ended up with 5 us being in our own instances after about 1 hour of trying.

Tried joining CM story mode (today, and about 3 days before that) and the exact same thing happened. I keep gettting put into a different version of the instance than the rest of my party (of 5). I tried joining through the dialogue, and by entering the portal, from overflow and from the “underflow” or w/e. We all tried exiting and re-entering and I tried relogging. It isn’t level related either since we had another person at the same level.

I did three dungeons with no leavers and no problems, HOWEVER

I went back to do Ascolan Catacombs for completion cause i hadnt done it since beta.

and three times in a row i had leavers. but if we sent someone out to go and invite someone to fill this persons slot… they both would comeback in to a different instance of the dungeon.

However, later on we figured if we sent the asura with the ears (our ELE) and made him come back in BEFORE he invited the person he found that they were able to both join our instance.

I HOPE THIS HELPS with the TROUBLESHOOTING BUGFIXING…

also this should be a good workaround statement for those that need help atm****

5 man guild group
One last week, one today, prime time

Symptoms are always the same. We get 4 man in. 5th gets into his own seperate instance. We tried everything, relogging, regrouping, all same shard instance. Didn’t help.

Guess: Server handling instance requests is overloaded. This only seems to happen when many people try to run an instance.

Please fix asap. This is killing group play.

My friends and I tried CoF, CM, AC, and HoW and we could not get any members together with using “Join in” or simply by walking to the gate. None of the dungeons are working right now it seems. x_x

CoF CM AC and TA story are ALL down. we have tried every way imaginable to get into the dungeons and wasted a lot of time. This bug is months old. Can we get it fixed soon please? Was under the impression that the game wouldn’t launch till it was ready.

Im having the same issues as you all. Cant get into the same TA as my party, game keeps creating an instance jsut for me that no one else can join. Was going to try other instances but ater finding this thread, doesnt seem to be a point.

Tried getting into Ascalonian Catacombs with group of 5 on story mode. We were all able to get in but in different instances once. After that we couldn’t get in. Ungrouped and waited 15 mins and tried again. The second time 3 could get in but were in different instances and the other two (myself and another) couldn’t get back in at all. Tried both walking in and using the pop-up.

Get the pop up, get Code=19.9:18:1803:101 after pressing explore mode.

We had someone from a different server join us around 3am PST and had a problem during the 2nd Alpha boss fight. Party members wouldn’t show unless you were extremely close to them. After we completed this dungeon run and tried to run again we ran into the Code=19.9:18:1803:101 error again. Haven’t been able to run it since 3AM PST.

Twilight Arbor is still down, nobody can enter together. The box comes up to join the party, but you click it, and nothing happens.

Our party could not enter Cadecus Manor either together or at all.. basically we tried to go in, got in but 3 in one instance and 1 in another(the 5th wasn’t in the zone yet). We all zoned out got into the same overflow, this time none of us could even enter. We all went to Dragonbrand and two of us ended up in one instance, 2 in another and 1 unable to enter at all. Whenever I say that they could not enter they got a pop up and when clicked nothing at all happened.

This happened at two different times today approximately two hours apart, although the example given is from the second attempt.

I’ve had this issue with the second dungeon, Caducus Manor Story Mode on Gates of Madness. I’ve been trying to do this dungeon since launch and had four failed attempts at joining my parties instance. We’ve tried to relog, re-group, re-port, etc. Nothing seems to solve the issue.

The pop-up would show but when I clicked Enter Dungeon nothing happened. The popup just went away.

I had no problems joining AC, TA, or Arah. So far the only problem was with CM. Maybe you should add the feature to reset the dungeon and/or your instances?

Please fix this ASAP! This is really aggravating.

My party just had an issue getting into Ascalonian Catacombs on the Stormbluff Isle server.

The first attempt, we had a full guild group formed. Our first party member was at the dungeon entrance and walked through. The rest of us were in the Plains of Ashford and got the popup. We all clicked to join our party member….dialog disappeared but nothing happened.

Then we all got to the dungeon entrance and walked in. We all chose story mode but each got into a separate instance of the dungeon. The first member could no longer get into the dungeon at all.

At this point we all exited and none of us could walk back into the dungeon. We would get the popup to enter story mode but after clicking ‘Join’ the dialog would disappear leaving us outside.

We all shutdown the client, relogged and reformed the party. We used the ‘Join party member’ menu option to all get into the same instance of Plains of Ashford. I walked into the dungeon, chose story mode, and got in. Then I asked my party members to walk in as well. We all got in but we were each by ourselves in a separate instance.

For reference, two of our members were lvl 30 and had not run the dungeon before. The other three had completed it on story mode and have not attempted explorable mode.

Our group could not enter the arah story mode.
I clicked on enter and nothing happened.
I went to the character selection screen but when I click play on my character nothing happened so I had to close the game down and restart, when I got back and click entered arah it worked.
I told the others to do the same but for some of them restarting didn’t work and one who did get in was in another instance of the dungeon. I left the dungeon and tried getting back in to see if I would be sent to the other guys instanced version but could not even get back in, even closing the game several times didn’t work. after that we gave up.
I did enter the dungeon before without being in a group like 10 minutes before the group formed but I don’t know if that has any relevance.

I’m not sure but i think nobody post about this bug. Since this morning, its impossible to do Arah exploring. When it’s time to zone in, you go at the portal, you click on exploring and nothing happen. You can try as many time as you want, nothing change. It’s happen a few time also that members of my party zone in, but not in the right dungeon (they get random dungeon).
I tried several servers and none of them was working properly.

Been down since around yesterday

Whenever someone tries to enter the dungeon, we get a “Firewall message”

Nobody has been able to enter, we’ve relogged and everything

On Blackgate-US, Honor of the Waves has been putting people in different explorable instances, if they manage to get in at all. There’s no message prompt when someone enters, and if party members walk through the portal either they get the choice of story/explore which puts them in a new instance, or the ‘join party explore mode’ button does nothing. Full party of 5, tested later with just me and a friend, no dice

Was completely unable to get a group into Ascalon Catacombs today. Did Caudecus’ Manor story mode today, got a group in once and then we were unable to get a group back in. We kept getting split up to 3 different ways.

Doing a dungeon is just not possible at all anymore, tried to do CM story mode like for 2 hours, get the msg pop up that group member enters dungeon click to enter on story mode nothing happens, walk trough the door yourself u get in your own dungeon instance solo, after leaving dungeon, u cant get in anymore untill u log for a serious time or log on another character, everyone in the party tried to create the instance no help at all, so atm doing dungeons in this mmo is not possible at all

Both Ascalon Cata and Cadeceus Manor were doing the split-the-party-into-different-instances bug to my party tonight.

Seems like the kind of bug that shouldn’t have gotten out of beta.

I’ve had this problem 2 times now, 1 time it happened last Friday and we were able to fix it by all dis-banning the group then re-logging then re-joining group and it worked. I had this problem again tonight with no success with re-grouping and logging. exact steps we took were followed
-doing the Manor Dungeon
-5 members all sat right next to instance waiting until we were all out of overflow
-I zoned first then everyone accepted the prompt
-everyone was in the same instance
-then 1 member accidentally zoned because the zone is right next to the waypoint
-then he was in the overflow, because we were mid battle he tried to zone in anyway by running into the zone and selecting enter.
-he was then put in his own instance.
We then tried to exit the instance completely disband exit gw2 re-join then re-group and zone in but we were put in the same zone and the member who was in a different one was still in the other zone.

AC groups were not working on stormbluff isle tonight

Had issues with getting into CoF exploration mode on Tarnished Coast, a few times over last two days.

On two occasions, had one person start group. Clicking enter on the popup did nothing. Noticed that if we dropped group and reformed, with everyone outside the instance, the join screen would flicker up for a split-second after dropping, and would reaper after reforming. In both cases, clicking would not get us in. People who had completed story mode were also unable to zone in by walking into the portal and selecting exploration.

However, was able to complete HoTW exploration and attempt Arah exploration with same group.
