Item disappeared from bags?
I guess the answer is no.
You’re best off submitting a ticket it you haven’t already. Red posts are few and far between on the forums, and while it’ll take a while to get a response, it’s almost guaranteed through ticket submission.
The answer that I and many others have had when it comes to the replacing of missing, disappeared or otherwise no-longer in your posession items is a “the Guild Wars Support Team is unable to replace individual items. We simply do not have the tools to provide this service at this time.”
You could always submit a ticket to see if it works out for you, to try your luck. I received my reply within a day. However, my bet is that you’re going to have to re-obtain the badges to craft another Breastplate.

Would love a definite answer on this…I have opened 3 in game tickets so far and posted here…have yet to hear anything from ArenaNet. I understand they are busy but would kind of like to know.
You need to file a ticket directly with support. The in-game tool can be used to file a bug report, but no one will get back to you.
Only create a single ticket for the issue: the more you create, the more time someone spends reading your tickets and the less time they spend addressing the issue or responding to you.
