Since the most recent patch, the veteran irukandji are broken and do not despawn after the first phase.

Yeah also its only for level 50 (other levels as far as I have seen are unaffected)

Perhaps it’s a feature that starts at level 50. Just like those newly added archers in Ascalon and other small changes.
