Guild Wars 2

Had this problem the past 2 days, no party member or friend is showing the option to join them, both from Eu and Na regions, one is even in the same world as me, what can I do to fix this? have tried logging out, restarting, updateing, but I cant get anything to work, I can see their blips on the map, and they mine, but neither us are given the option to join, this is only in the PvE areas as well, no pvp or WvW, currently trying in plains of ashford

Well eu cant join na so thats why those friends cant join anyway.

This was happening to me and a friend as well and I hypothesized that it was because I had restarted my game since a new patch was released, and he hadn’t. (when it says “New build released. Your game will restart in X minutes”) So because we were playing on 2 different builds, we could not join each other’s instance.

Also yes, EU players cannot join NA instances and vice versa

your hypothesis is correct. if a patch happens and one person patches and the other doesn’t, you can’t join them in a map, or in any instances (dungeons/fractals/etc). this is because they are running a different version of the game to you and maps/instances are not recognised as being the same, even if they are.
