Either I’ve been oblivious to them disappearing before or this has been going on for a while..

^ yes, cannons get adjusted after 50%, they destroy its wings, and thats why he falls on the rock, and goes to the second spot.

If anything about this needs to be fixed, it’s the text/speech that the NPC says leading into the 2nd phase. Because of the timer (30mins from when it lands) being active, now when the Claw goes into the 2nd phase it keeps it’s wings in case the timer runs out, so it can fly off again (event fail).

So most of the time I see it dead within 15mins but like I said the wings are there as a fallback to event failure. The part where the NPC says “This time we’ll bring it down – for good” means in the original iteration of this event, at phase 2 start it would have the cannons blow off the wings of the Claw because there was no option for failure.
