Yesterday (Mar 31, 2016), the new “Dailies” included the Jungle Wurm boss event. I attended with my level 24 Revenant, who used her long-range hammer attacks on the Jungle Wurm throughout the battle. Attached is a screenshot afterward that shows a section my combat log of inflicting hits and even a critical hit.
I did not suffer any crashes, but when the fight ended with the death of the Wurm, I DID NOT get credit for the fight (in upper right corner, see the “Daily Great Jungle Wurm” is still at 0%). My client side program was functioning fine. After the fight I waypoint moved from the battle site back to Divinity’s Reach , bought and sold, and rolled back the chat log to take the screenshot.
Incidentally, my client PC is perfectly capable. It is an i7 quad core (3 GHz), 16 GB RAM, with a relatively new GTX 970 graphics card with plenty of VRAM. I can provide a dxdiag report if you need it.
Oddly enough, my teammate, using a thief’s shortbow and doing less damage, using a slightly weaker PC (2.8 GHz i7, 12 GB RAM, 770 card) DID get credit for killing the Wurm in that very same fight. It’s not a client hardware issue.
It seems obvious that there is a BUG that prevents boss event completion for some random participants in large boss battles. It’s not obvious if the server is just falling behind and missing people under the strain, or the battle participation logic is flawed. The Combat Log shows that something was registering my hits during the fight, so that might narrow down the potential source of the problem.
