put another carrot in front of me” – Mike O’Brien right before Ascended weapons
I don’t know exactly what the bug here is, but it’s one out of two. Recipes sold by Karma merchants are now soulbound on acquire; I remember this wasn’t the case right after release, so I guess it was changed. The thing is, the tooltip when buying the recipes from the Karma vendors do not state they are soulbound, which has led me to waste quite a bit of Karma.
So the bug is either:
1) Recipes from Karma merchants are not meant to be soulbound, but are.
OR:
2) Recipes from Karma merchants are meant to be soulbound, but their tooltips are not saying so right now.
Of course, I would prefer if the first option were the correct one, but regardless, something is wrong. For an example, see the “Recipe: Match Grade Standard Rifle” recipe being sold by a Karma Merchant in Kessex Hills.
I would also really, really, really prefer it to be the first one. Because if it’s not, it means every crafter has to grind every heart in every zone to get all recipes.
But what with the other big crafting nerf (cooking ingredients) I’ve got the sinking feeling it’s no 2….
It is not every recipe, either. You have no way of knowing which is and which is not until you buy them. This really needs to be fixed, one way or another. Making us waste karma to find out if we can give this to our crafting alts, is very poor.
Especially considering the fairly low karma rewards for events in PvE
I heard that you get most karma in WvW, but my system is unfortunately so weak that I believe I’d quickly land at 1 fps in WvW >_>
(We shouldn’t be forced to participate in a PvP mode to stay “competitive” in PvE I think)
