There is supposed to be an NPC Hylek next to a “cannon” named Ol’ Stinky. You talk to the Hylek to do the Skill Challenge.

The NPC Hylek is not there. I tried waiting for a day, he is still not there.

This is the thing I need to finish in order to gain 100% map completion for Kessex Hills. Thank you for reading.

Try guesting onto another world.

His cannon is there, but there is no frog. I’ve been trying to complete this as well. You can’t interact with the cannon either it’s greyed out. Please fix so I can complete that map. Thanks

I am on blackgate.

There are skelks all around this area and 1 vet skelk with the turret but no frog.

don’t want this to get buried. have 2 toons parked here now waiting on fix.

It probably got fixed with the server reset today for the new patch. This bug has happened before, and it seems to occur when someone runs away from the skill challenge and the Hylek follows you, and “forgets” how to get back to his home.

Purely speculation here, but I know that on top of one of those ‘islands’ in the area (I’m pretty sure the same one) it’s possible for a new Toxic Alliance portal event to take place. I’m wondering if perhaps the Hylek is fighting/being kited to the Toxic mobs, or vice versa?

will have another look when I get home. I searched all over that area yesterday and could not find him.

Confirm: I did complete this today. I don’t know If it was fixed with the patch or if it was as mentioned above and this mob is able to be kited and killed to tied up somewhere.

Tried guesting in another world (twice), same problem – skill starter isn’t showing up but Ol’ Stinky is there.

Can you pls fix this as it seems to be pretty often and its annoying as hell to not be able to get new chars the skillpoint and 100% completion of map.

It is still like that so it has not been fixed tried for 2 days no luck the machine has moved island an the frog is gone. Please fix this

I did this skill point last night on Tarnished Coast. Come guest to TC.

I had the same problem on desolation and guested to blacktide and the npc was there

It’s happening on Isle of Janthir. Been trying at it for two days.

Also I can’t get the Point of Interest to next to “Ol’ Stinky” activate.

Today’s update solved both the problems I was having.

Hey everyone. I had this same problem too. I waited over a week to see if the Hylek would show up. (I am on Desolation btw).

I read this thread and tried guesting on Blacktide – it worked for me

Just for newcomers ref: the Hylek should be standing right next to Ol’ Stinky and will say “i smell something coming up the hill…” as you approach.

This problem is also happening on Fort Aspenwood. bump

This skill point is currently bugged on Stormbluff Isle. Ol’ Stinky is destroyed and Tocatl is nowhere to be found.

Fort Aspenwood also has the same problem does not appear

Sanctum of Rall server is bugged. I had to guest on another server to complete it.

I’d also like to clarify that for the ‘Tower of Nightmares’ release and ‘The Nightmares Within’ release, the skill point was moved slightly. It originally was on the tip of the peninsula north of the Eukaryan Caves and we moved it to the island above the Tagotl Grounds (the island just south of Viathan Waypoint in Kessex Hills)

Also, it is not above the Tagotl Grounds POI, its above the Truffle Pig Heart, where its always been.

Same problem in Gunnar’s Hold, only Ol’ Stinky is there

Same on Sanctum of Rall.

Fort Aspenwood has this problem also. I’ve been checking every day and still no frog.

I have a caracter in kessex hill [Gunnar’s Hold] i can’t complete the map because there isn’t Tocatl. Can you repair it please. Thanks.

I’m surprised it broke again so quickly after the update last Monday.

Did you try guesting to Tarnished Coast? It worked there.

He’s still missing on Ring of Fire server.

The same with the Ruins of Surrnia server.

Piken Square… Hylek is missing

Didn’t work in Desolation for me today. Guesting on Blacktide worked just fine.

Also missing hylek on Magumma server.

Desolation is missing one frog either

Still broken on Sanctum of Rall. Only thing left in the zone for me to get, and I am closing in on 100% exploration…

Sorrow’s Furnace — still broken as of 1/5/14 @ 7 PM CST.. cannot complete.
