LFG Description Bugged [Merged]

Yup, the LFG description is lost when it is posted. The only way to get it to show is to edit the LFG once it’s already created.
I am posting this information on behalf of my friends and guildmates after a series of tests with the LFG since the patch on 02/23/2015:
1) When posting on LFG, the first description that is written is deleted once you post on the LFG for any category. This is remedied by editing the post.
2) After the party is filled by using LFG and you lose a member, members of the current party can’t post in LFG from that map and/or instance. You must leave the instance or map in order to post in LFG
3) If you are re-posting on LFG for another party member, the previous description of the group will over-write the new description.
4) Ghost groups are still somewhat prevalent on the LFG (full groups whose LFGs are showing 4 members instead of 5 members and that group cannot remove their ad from LFG)
[Test Example for Bug Notes 1, 2, and 3:]
For example, your group is doing “fractal 2-10-15” and that is what you post on LFG. When you post on LFG, the description is deleted so you hit edit and reenter the description. Your group is does fractal level 2 and 10 and you lose a member after fractal level 10. You have to leave the instance to Lion’s Arch enable yourself to post on LFG and you change the old message to “fractal 15.” When you post, the post will revert to “fractal 2-10-15.” You can re-edit the post to update the context; however, the post will most likely be taken down because a person entered the party under the false context of which fractal levels your group is doing. Now the party cannot post in Lion’s Arch or within the active fractal itself.

How the hell did this get broken by the patch, nothing in the patch notes even hints that the LFG system was remotely touched.
Given this system is a critical core part of Anet’s new zone content ‘vision’ (it’s the only way most of the ‘content’ in the HOT zones can be done) it’s even more unacceptable that such breakage was allowed to go live than most ‘new’ bugs in not ‘new’ content.

Not sure if this helps but it seems to always put what your previous lfg was so if it the first time you are advertising party since logging in it will be blank but on all subsequent attempts it will put your previous description regardless of what you type. Example: I put “2,10,15 daily” in fractals it will start empty, I will then have to edit with the same description for it to post properly. Then the next time I advertise “DS taxi” in open world lfg for example it will default to “2,10,15 daily” I will then have to edit it again to get it to display the proper “DS taxi”.
The LFG is bugged beyond belief.
1) First attempt to post an LFG always fails in a way that the LFG gets listed but no description is posted with it (description is blank). Professions in the party can be seen. Only adding (editing) the description for the second time displays it next to the listed LFG.
2) The LFG bugs that were in the game before are now even more annoying. The bug that simply prevents posting any LFG while in party is now even more persistent. Not even dissolving the party or having someone else post it helps.

Description bug and if your in Fractals with a open group of, 3 ppl as example, you cannot announce your group in LfG, same bug we had some patches ago.
And BtW, the LfG was patched, or was there a Search box on top all the time and i just was blind?
This also happenes to me along some other issues.
Having same problems since the patch, very frustrating
the post patch patch didnt fix it. instead it added a client crash when refreshing.
Updating descriptions still bugged after the 24/02/2016 patch. After changing description and clicking Advertise Your Party, nothing happens. Description does not update.
It is, afterall, just a game.

First time posting lfg works fine; once you complete a fractal, unless you disband party and regroup and post in LA (not from within frac), LFG does either nothing, or ignores your text, magically resurrecting your old post text, or posts an invisible post (with empty text).
This is making running daily fractals super annoying. I thinnk it’s been like this since Tue.
Pls look into this is driving me bananas.

On long run like fractals after did several fractals. we cant place a new party with new description. We can only put party request on old description. Like lets say we said 21-25-32 for dailies. After we did 21 and 25 some 1 left our party. And we tried to put lfg new descption but we all failed. we can only put with old description like21/25/32. If we tried the change adn advirtise party its now showin on lfg system.
Since search function of lfg put in on patch, I’ve had various problems with LFG.
1. Someone joins grp and I can no longer post
2. Have to post then edit post to advertise in lfg either before and/or after someone joins.
3. Multiple members join group, someone leaves, then noone can post for more members
4. Multiple members join grp: some members can post and some can’t.
4. Will work in world event lfg but now fractal lfg.
Basically just a mess.
Also wondering why ANET would bother with an lfg search function since they haven’t been able to get forum search to work in last 3 yrs.

That’s a completely different case. LFG search is a system made by Anet itself with their own methods and way, so they are able to fix it if needed. For Forum they used a third party software that’s no longer supported by their creator and nobody at Anet knew how stuff works, then they couldn’t and weren’t able to fix it until now.

Whats tricky? I always encounter this issue in FOTM. After completing 1 frac, I cant post in LFG again. This is ridiculous, it doesn’t involve complex stuff. PLEASE FIX as this is irritating
idk if this is what yall were doing but i noticed today when i was doing a taxi the descrip was blank and what id done was type the descrip in the lfg search bar and pressed enter
i dont actually remember seeing an lfg search bar before so it might have been added this latest patch (or i was just blind)

I see a lot of people complaining that the LFG function for higher level fractals is not working and I never see anything above lvl 20 greyed out. Please check this.
There’s a terribly annoying bug that makes a fractal party unable to advertise its party again if a player leaves. It’s been some time now, please have a look at it. It seems more peolple are leaving midway during fractals just to troll

I’ll list everything I encountered :
- I’m with a friend and I can’t put an ad but he can do
- My group is full, someone leaves and nobody can put an ad
- I’m successful in putting an ad but the ad has no text
- I’m successful in putting an ad but the ad has the previous lfg ad.
Seriously, please stop breaking this tool that worked really fine the last months before.

It seems that once you have put up an lfg and you found a full group with it you can not change it anymore while still inside the same group…
For example if you do P1 of CoF then after that 1 guy leaves but the other 4 players decide they also want to do P2. if then somone in the group wants to make a new lfg and change the previous “p1” to “p2” but it will appear as the old “p1” and it is not possible to change it to any other new message that you would write instead…

Dammm Please fix it. i really got tired keep postin or writin same lfg. And still there is blank parties on LFG systems. Description still losing after u post it and u have to repost. Sometimes repost is not working and u are getting suppressed.
LFG desc is still broken.
3 ppl from our party confirmed this bag.
- when posting initial ad written desription vanishes and leaves blank space with profession icons; you have to quickly edit desc before ppl start joining
- when someone leaves the party and we have to post LFG ad again, no matter what text we write in the desription, it just copies the previous one
I was progressively getting upset yesterday when ppl joined our group under “wrong” description and we had to regroup >.<
