I have been fairly inactive for the past couple of months, between school, work and family stuff going on I have had very little time to play. Right at the time I stopped playing I was experiencing horrible lag and DC usually starting right in the middle to end of pvp matches or within 15 minutes of playing and sort of pve. I have no lag what-so-ever then a huge lag spike will hit usually resulting in a DC.
I do not have any problems with any other programs like this. Usually while playing I have pandora going and that doesn’t lag or hiccup one bit, never have any problems browsing the web for school or work related searches or any other game I play. But without fail every time I play a pvp match, at one point or another I will recieve huge lag spikes making me unable to help at all and eventually DC.
I have since tried numerous things: I have ran the Guildwars client in the repair mode, I have reinstalled the client, I have even reinstalled windows on my machine due to other, unrelated circumstances and now that I have a little bit of time to play again I absolutely cannot due to this lag and DC’s.
Does anyone have any insight on this problem or know what could be causing it? I know that at one point in time this was a common problem in PvP, but I don’t ever recall seeing a fix for it. Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
