After today’s patch (12-09-2014) I can’t load the launcher in order to play the game.

This is because steam is conflicting with gw2. make sure steam is closed, and doesn’t have any processes running (I had to completely restart my computer, for that.) then delete the “bin,” folder in the “guild wars 2,” folder. next time you load the client, it’ll work just fine.
