Guild Wars 2

Since this last patch came I’m having problems with leave a party in Guild Wars 2. EVERY TIME I pressed the button to leave the party I received a message of crash the game and a option to send informations about what i was doing. Anyone more having this problem?

I’m having the same problem. Every time a patch comes out 10 things go wrong before everything is right.

I have the same problem, did not help either -prefreset

Have same problem – it started few days ago. If you try to leave or party kick you -game crash. It happened after fractals and dungeon and also in pve map. Trying to repair game at the moment. Many people have this problem. Anyone know if we have red post on this topic.(too many bug topics out there hard to find anything)?

Nope repair did not help…

I have the sams problem and it is really annoying. Is there an Anet-statement for this issue?

I’ve tried re-installing the game, I even tried the command shortcut on the desktop -prefreset game and return to factory settings or This here does not help, we will probably have to wait until it repairs the creators of the game

I’m having the same problem…

It looks like the problem has to do the server or something in game…especially if reinstalling the client didn’t fix it.

I know it has nothing to do with our internet connections because ts3 works fine during this whole crash…

i am also having this issue.

Came out to see if I could find something on this. Have a couple of guildies running into the same issue when leaving parties. Thought it might be dungeon related but then a third was getting it leaving parties in the silverwastes. Trying to get them to pass on some screen shots of the error message. They are sending them in via the automated process bit was hoping someone else had found a temp work around for the heap errors.

I am having the same issue. I can be anywhere in the game. The second I leave a party game crashes with the same error

Also getting this same problem. Also occurred when other person left the party this time. ( Only had it when I left before). Have sent error report every time – hope it gets fixed soon
I find that if I set myself to invisible before I leave the party, I don’t crash out.

Still happening to me after Dungeons.

This is still happening constantly, it is infuriating. For example.. every time I try to taxi into silver wastes my game crashes when I leave the taxi party. Every single time.

I’m getting it as well but it seems like i was able to not get kicked if i go to the party menu (P) and I put “wwwwwwwww” (was running around while leaving) on player invite then leave (without inviting the person). I don’t crash and seem to work normally.

However merging party still has issues but i never tried to merge party with what i did above.

Frustrating as hell with Anet not really saying anything about this or keeping us informed.

I assume we are all sending in the report upon crash… they HAVE to be getting em.

Lost out on about 100+ g so far.. pugging is horrid… since I do A LOT of SW event farming, being able to group hop is essential so this is darn near game breaking for me

This is happening to me since the patch last week. Like others, I’m experiencing this consistently in Sparkfly Fen, but have seen it happen elsewhere as well (though I can’t recall where else).

So… this is still an issue, then. Have been suffering from this every day this past week. My fingers ache from the many – MANY – bug reports I’ve sent after the game crashed upon leaving a party.

A possible workaround for those who don’t know yet: open your LFG window, set your status to ‘invisible’ while still in party. Then leave party and switch back to ‘online’.

Haven’t crashed yet using this method, but it’s a bandaid solution – a more permanent fix would be nice Anet!

I have the same issue. It even happens when people leave my party, not just when I leave a party.

I saw someone suggest using “Simple Party UI” fixed it for them. I can confirm that this is working for me also.

I have the same issue – game crashing instantly when I click “leave party”. Switching to simple party UI did NOT fix the issue for me.

The problem first surfaced today and happened 4 out of 5 times so far, once inside Ascalonian Catacombs, 3 times in Bloodtide Coast before the TT wurm event. After the wurm event was over I tried again in Bloodtide coast and that time I didn’t crash.

Same problem here after the March 16 patch. Sometimes when i leave party or someone in the party kick me the game crash to desktop. This is annoying.

Have you guys tried setting your status to ‘Invisible’ in the LFG tool before leaving party? It’s worked for me as a work-around, haven’t crashed since.

Of course – a more permanent solution would be nice…

I got the same problem as you guys. This is horrible for me since I mostly do dungeons and SW where I rely on being able to join and leave parties a lot.

There are other things to do that I like, but playing gw2 without being able to join any parties, purely out of the fear of crashing my client, that really ruins the fun.

This is sooo annoying. Never know when it will crash me when I leave. Real bad getting people into same map for Guild Missions.

Got the same problem, on leave party my game crashes, and since the queues to WvW is ridiculously long, you can imagine how this is affecting the gameplay.

Same problem. Saturday was the first time this happen to me when i leave a party in SE dungeon.

cant open taxi for sw, cant help other players, cant do kitten! when last player leave my client crash!

I got the same problem. Support reply on my report:

“At this time, I would like you to try the following steps:

Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder, which by default would be C:\Program Files(x86)\Guild Wars 2.
Move this folder to a new location like C:\Games\Guild Wars 2. The location doesn’t matter specifically, as long as it’s outside of Program Files and Program Files(x86).
Navigate to this new location and “Right-click” on “GW2.exe” selecting “Create Shortcut.”
Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode.”
“Right-click” on “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode” and select “Properties.”
Click the “Compatibility” tab.
Checkmark “Run this program as an Administrator.”

Next, let’s go ahead and repair this new installation location:

With the Gw2.exe – Shortcut Properties menu still open, click on the “Shortcut” tab.

Edit the “Target” line to include -repair at the end. Note: Please make sure -repair is outside of the quotes, and be sure to include a space between the target location, and the new command line:
-- Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -repair
-- Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe -repair”

Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes. If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try Step 2 again.

Allow the repair to run and once completed, double click on “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode” to launch the game.

i just test 1 times did not crash :/

I have the same issue also. Whenever I leave a party or they kick me or even when the other guy leaves (after the fractals) my game crashes.

Same! imposible to play this way.

Still happening to me too. Every time I leave a party or the second to last leaves the party (so that I’d be the only one if I didn’t CTD). Also happens when I leave PvP Lobby, frequently. It’s been happening since Disaster Patch. Not the end of the world but a fix would be groovy :P

Please fix this! It’s terrible. Partying is a basic function and this… I just… no words.

I have the same problem. It crashes when I leave the party or when the last other person in my party leaves the group.
