Attached screenshot explains it all…

Basically when you unequip a transmuted legendary, the name of it in “game messages” is that of the stats, rather than the legendary skin.

Brom Svánigandr – Druid
Nemata Sapshield – Dragonhunter
Lillian Estre – Tempest

This happens with any transmuted weapon (maybe armor aswell) not just legendaries
