As many of us know, attempting to sell items too quickly on the Trading Post will soon generate the “Error attempting to sell” message, after which the player is required to wait several seconds before they can successfully list their item.

My first question is why this feature exists?

I’ve read that many players believe it’s to prevent bots from speed-selling. I’m not sure I believe that since it’s trivial to program a bot to wait several seconds between sell attempts and just leave it running overnight.

My second question is has the tolerance been decreased within the last month or so?

I’ve noticed I only have to sell approximately 15 items in quick succession before getting the error message, and my fellow guild members have reported similar experiences lately.

My final question is can we discuss relaxing or removing this feature?

Without knowing exactly why it’s there I can only speculate on this point, but I believe that if a feature which is designed to hinder exploitative playing is actually effecting even the most casual players, then it needs to be revised.

It generally takes me no more than 4 listings before I get that error due to the speed at which I check an item’s selling prices, go to sell the item, adjust selling price, and list the item. I have to consciously list very slowly so as to avoid triggering those dreaded red letters. It is, indeed, very annoying.

add a gw style CAPTCHA test if that’s the case. misuse of the system shouldn’t impose this type of poor user experience for normal users IMO.

I would really like to see this system relaxed-every month I clean out my materials bank and because of “error attempting to sell” it takes FOREVER.

Oh wow, so this is a feature to prevent botting and not a bug? This is the only game where i have been screwed over by anti botting measures. This kicks in really quickly and it is super annoying. eg in fractals where i want to clear my bags mid-run i will ah it and i want to do it fast.

It would be nice to get some answers. After reading through a similar post in this forum I feel like they’re deliberately ignoring this issue.
